Is it worth the hassle to contact Amazon and try to get the game codes?

I already contacted customer service and they said to contact AMD, I contacted AMD and they said they can't do anything.

I bought XFX RX 5700 DD ULTRA and a 2600x

You need to contact the seller from Amazon and they will provide the codes. Got mine 2 months ago.

The promotional games code with purchase should be given by the retailer not AMD. If Amazon have the games offer listed on the graphic card product page, then it is them that has to fulfill it, and they just can't flop you off to AMD.

The question is though, was the game offer actually on and listed with the graphic card at the time you bought your card on Amazon?
Anyone know how this compares to a 1080? That’s what I have atm but Mac OS has stopped supporting nvidia so hoping I could switch it out with this without too much performance loss?

Not as good. That said, Flash with xt bios and you've got a good upgrade

It's a complete side-grade but you shouldn't notice the difference IMHO as they are that close stock.

I am unsure if undervolting and such is possible in Mac OS, as since this is a reference card I highly recommend it, it transforms the card and might see you marginally better off as the card will not only run cooler and quieter, but throttle less or even not at all, and maintain 'game clock' non stop.

It's also possible you can flash the card to allow higher boost clock, bringing it within a hair of the xt model (which I run myself and am very happy with). Free 10% boost potentially thats worth considering as you should beat the 1080 then in most titles...

I'd say that if you can undervolt it at least it will be good, great price imo.

My 5700xt was toasty out the box, but rather than run all out as fast as I can I made a compromise and now maintains a constant 1900ish MHz, never exceeds 84c at the hotspot, and only consumes 188w while benching... (I.e. it's faster than stock, 20c cooler than stock, and consumes 37w less while benchmarking) - and the normal 5700 should manage about this level of performance of you manage to flash it (otherwise it's limited to 1745mhz or something like that) VRam may be a little hotter than xt due to no backplate, but that's about it.

Hope this helps

Yes, He/She was selling 2 but that has been sold now. Brought a GTX970 secondhand along time ago and still going strong but my son has robbed that now. Motherboard graphics isn’t good.
Expired now I think?

I second that, i've seen that as well, plenty of people offloading rx 5700 and rx 5700xt for cheap, just bought a custom 5700 for 210, fingers crossed drivers won't be a pain.

Nice price, don't bet on it though, I just built a brand new system and my 5700 is an absolute pain

What I don't get is how some people's 5700 are fine while others have constant issue's with them, it almost sounds like a hardware issue, also surprised none of the reviews bashed them for the drivers either.

Anyway fingers crossed its not why the guy was getting rid of it, otherwise its going strait back on

It is odd man, but it's a real issue no doubt about it. I've built two XT PCs, every part new and very premium (mobo, ram, psu, the lot). And one is garbage, the other was fine.

After this I'll go nvidia every time tbh.
Built a new machine with a Gigabyte 5700XT and have been benchmarking for 10 days now.
The card seems perfectly solid on 20.2.1 drivers - Unigine, 3DMark etc.
The only issue (black screen resets) was after installing Afterburner.
Uninstalled it, running stock 5700XT settings - all fine now. No Wattman either.
5.2Ghz 9700K, 4x 8GB 4266Mhz, Aorus Master.

Maybe my card's a lucky one?

Probs luck, I don't even have afterburner installed. I had one game installed, no other programs, and got blackscreens. Even so, the fact it blackscreens with afterburner installed is a big red flag. Over 2-4 years of ownership you bet there will be more incompatibility issues like that, and in the future it might not be so easy to diagnose. Headache.

Yes! Had to return a 2070 beforehand with the memory/controller fault that showed space invaders, like below.
I wish Nvidia/AMD would improve stability !!

Just read some amazon reviews on a 5700 xt hand one guy that was having issues was saying the memory on his was going to 98 deg, apparently the card was missing thermal pads, unbelievable but true you'd think its their first card and all for a production saving of 0.5 pence.

Are your cards identical? And Same production Revision?

The one that crashes more often is a 5700 XT Nitro Special Edition which retails at about £420
The on that works is a s****y reference 5700 XT that runs hot and loud. Go figure. The latter is paired with a 3600, the former with a 2700x, perhaps that has something to do with it.
Either way, not great for £400 and the last amd card I'll ever buy haha.

Think I know what it is, read somewhere that they screwed up the screws tension pressure on the chipset,I bet that's what's causing it.

Unbelievable this is happening, you'd think they are just a bunch of amateurs putting them together in a garage.

Thanks for the replies, if mines will have the same issues it go strait on sale and be last amd card.

I beleive that the screw issue is only applicable to Asus ROG Strix but it could be other cards too something about the suggested torque being to low from amd themselves, there was a big article about it the other day.

Makes you wonder if all cards could have that issue?

It's software for sure, the card runs fantastically temp wise. Very stable, the asus cards have the cooler issue.
Sapphire have done a fab job with the cooler, amd have done a great job with the hardware, its the shoddy software 100%
