Unless you're desperate wait a couple of days to see what ampere has to …Unless you're desperate wait a couple of days to see what ampere has to offer.

I am skeptical to what nVidia has to offer at reasonable pricing nowadays... all jokes aside at AMD
performance per buck they really went miles ahead to what they had in previous generations... plus all of the Low to Mid tier is populated by AMD wining nowadays
I know that people will throw driver issues, but me once doing a DDU fixed all of the issues I had with black screens or other crap

FYI not a fanboy had 6 GPUs and only two were ATI/AMD (HD 5870/now proud owner of 5700XT red devil)

as for the deal well the GPU runs hot so I would recommend a well ventilated case

Can GPU prices get any better than this? Even with whatever is around the corner, this is solid pricing

That was for the XT. For the 5700, this should be enough cooling. Even the stock blower cooler is fine for a RX5700.
If going for the 5700XT, you need a better card.

so danger danger if flashing an xt bios then?

I feel that is absolutely unnecessary.

A RX5700 will be able to play nearly all games at 1440p High, so you dont need to flash the XT bios.

Also flashing bios would just invalidate any warranty you have for about 8% increase in performance which in my opinion is not worth the risk.
so cheap rx580 8gb for 120/130 and see what happens re 3000 series / big navi or get something like this and be happy for a year or so

If you're going for a rx580 clearly it's not in the same bracket, rx580 is more or less a 1080p card, this is a 1440p card, comparing the two is pointless, plus you'll be lucky to find a new rx580 for 120/130, used yes.

But it's all dependant on what hz you play at and the games you play, 60 you may be fine, but anything more it's a no.

DDU does not fix everything always on every occasion.

I have and still am experiencing black screen dropouts with compute workloads on my RX 580 (yeah I know, I really need to upgrade but I'm waiting to see what the next gen looks like just like all of us!!), and changing back to WHQL recommended drivers made no difference.

AMD still fail to lead the pack with driver quality, no question. Whereas my two Haswell systems chug along very, very faithfully on Win 10 installs that are now years old!

Nvidia are about to offer - according to solid leaks - a huge jump in performance. Expect pricing to remain exhorbitant at the high end. But mid range cards like this should come down even further in price, which is worth waiting for.

Really looking forward to next gen. Hopefully a midrange card can do 1440p/144hz with ray tracing.

Ampere will be nowhere bear this price,so no point waiting for that. I guess people have forgotten what Nvidia pricing is. LoL. Also, cards will be released Q1 2021,so you will have to wait for a year even to find out what the pricing will be.

As for crashes, DDU solves most game issues. If for someone there are crashes or stutters, just disable Radeon Image Sharpening from Radeon Settings and it works great.

Even if the announcement is then, won't the cards be released months down the line and therefore prices won't change until then?

Grab a cheap GT 240 on eBay, that'll give you video out for very little money.

Yeah, there has been some scepticism to that, I think that most likely other people are right and we will see 10-20 quid price drop and that’s about it. because I’ve been waiting over a month now so it doesn’t matter to me if I postpone buying a new gpu until next week
says 431 euros for me, has it expired already?

you know what is the funny bit? I have image sharpening set to full and games look like you've put on glasses but also improved performance ... sic!
Anthem was running on 1080p ultra at 80 FPS with vsync but dropped to as low as 39 FPS while intense battles were going on ... with image sharpening bettering the quality 1% low sits at 72 FPS... i mean how?
Quick question 5700 or gtx 1080 for £265 used obviously

In terms of the 3000 series which is rumoured for release in September
Well mine's arriving wensday from germany so i will find out how ropey AMD drivers are ( 4+ years since i last used AMD) first hand **if at all** when i test it out.
I purchased a Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 for £277 last week and it pretty much doubled the FPS on the games i tested it with compared to the gtx 1060 i was using for 4 years.

Wow, how did you get such a big discount?
At the time it was priced at £346 on ebuyers ebay and there was a general discount code running but with only less than a hours left when i found the card- PERCENT20 which knocked the discount off and then ebuyer bumped up the price a couple of days later and the code ran out .

@hong_kong_englishman Did it arrive? How well does it perform? I'm stuck between this, a 2060 or paying a bit more for the 5700XT that was posted earlier today.

It's been delayed but i will hopefully be able to test it tommorow and compare the frame rates for the gigabyte rtx 2060 i wrote down.but if this video is to be believed it should be level or 3-10 fps faster depending on the game.

This or the XT? I feel like the XT is hundred pounds more but the performance gain isn't worth the extra price right?

Personally i dont think it's worth the money too and add the fact that it's a lottery if you get one that runs reliably
made me stear clear of it.
