ASRock will only honour warranties on motherboards sold by authorised distributors. Most third party sellers aren't listed as authorised distributors.

Amazon always replaced faulty items for me even after a year (headset, mouse, RAM) just have to ask nice
Used and the old generation... Seems like a clearance to me.

Skip the z170 generation and get in the z370 with either the i3 8100 or the i5 8400.

Although I agree with you, the point is the price here, not the generations or age, z370 version of this is £170+, not everyone wants or willing to spend a fortune on a rig, and I respect that.

Basically: The 8xxx series offers better CPUs at cheaper price points, that if you compare the gains at each CPU level (i3, i5, i7) the better value is at the Coffee Lake CPU side.
