Worth noting that there are two games between 2 and 3 and brotherhood is definitely worth playing if you get into 2. I would go ac2 and brotherhood if you're getting 2, personally

AC2 arguably the better game but I prefer the first one. I’m not sure how well it’s aged but it was brilliant when it was released.

I hammered AC2 to death and it put me off the series a bit, just because the menial tasks go on to long, which is the same for a lot of open world games.

Brotherhood is also pretty good, they brought in a bit of CPU team gameplay.

AC3 gets a bit of stick for being a slow/boring start but a lot of the decision depends on preference of setting. I bought AC3 a while ago but still haven’t played it.

I think I played Revelations a bit, and then Unity and Syndicate a tiny bit but I’d say 1 and 2 are the best two.

Sorry for the slightly jumbled response
I cant catch the thief in 2 so unable to progress.
AC The Ezio Collection (AC2, AC Brotherhood, AC revalations remastered) is also £11.99 in the Store. I would plump for that - in fact I already have.
Worth noting that the original Assassin's Creed is not only backward compatible on Xbox One (like the others) but also enhanced for Xbox One X.

Yep I'm about halfway through Revelations now and the fatigue is setting in a little bit. I put around 30 hours each into AC2 and Brotherhood hunting all secrets and achievements but not sure I'll be doing same with Revelations. Looking forward to moving on to all the other games since I own them all but never got round to them!

I've played & completed all AC games since they were first released. Obviously, some are better than others but IMO, all are very playable & enjoyable.

AC (the first game) was immense when it first came out but not sure how good it would seem now. However I feel if you want to get into the series and start playing them all it might be best to start here just so you get to know the main character; Altair - whos character is mentioned in most, if not all of the following AC games.

The difference in gameplay from the first AC to AC2 is far superior and probably why most people would start with AC2 & just smash right through the Ezio collection (well worth the days/weeks/months it will take). Once you've done that you'll probably be hooked and get the rest of them.

I'm quite jealous that you have this to look forward to be honest, AC Valhalla can't come soon enough!
I love the franchise and they have made a lot of quality of life improvements over time but for some reason still insist on making each open world bigger and bigger and filling it with pointless outposts and treasures which end up being a chore to do if you want the platinum/1000G.
If you have xbox one then id advise getting the ezio collection as its been remastered, which has ACII ACB and ACR in it. Some of the best AC games. ACII does feel clunky at times compared to the more recent AC games. But Ezios storylines are so good!

I've been playing the AC Odyssey DLCs, which are like full games in their own right. Hours and hours of gameplay. So I know what you mean about fatigue. I'll probably leave it 6 months before I start on the Enzio collection (got about 30 games in my unplayed pile)

I also imagine it will be pretty tough to play Ezio collection after Odyssey which took huge strides for the series. Ezio Collection is great but the game design is definitely dated. Still fun though!
Looks like this offer has ended ... all seem to be £8.99+ for me.
