Amazing game and definitely worth the buy at that price
I love this game!
I loved this game, being able to fight ship to ship was a welcome addition. Worth the money, heat added.
Bargin! Just finished origins and currently playing odyssey. Heat!
How did I miss this
Great price but I personally hated this game. I know a lot of people consider it to be the best in the franchise though.

I bought this last week at this price, I don’t know why I hadn’t played it before because I love Assassins Creed. I also bought Wolfenstein : The New Order for £3.99, PSN is great on sales (such a bargain especially if your doing the Primary console thing)
I remember paying £9.99 to get the ps4 version but have to put ps3 disc in the console. What a waste that was, I hated the pirate ship stuff too difficult to control.

The pirate ship eventually became my favourite part of the game.
I'd never played an Assassin's Creed game before this - not properly anyway, I had tried and failed to get into the first game a couple of times - but the pirate setting made me want to try it, and I finally got around to it on the Xbox One just a couple of months ago and absolutely loved it. I would pay this price to play it again on the PS4! Currently playing through Rogue, because that's basically more of the same.

It's made me realise that this is a series that you can just dip in and out of, without having to play every single game, so you can just pick and choose the one's you're interested in, as long as you ignore the present day storyline - which Black Flag is mercifully light on. So might go straight to Odyssey next because I like the look of that one.

Well the navigation controls are easy enough, so do you mean the combat? I found it was just difficult enough - having to switch between weapons and manually aim them (or not) all while still piloting the ship. It really made me feel like I was controlling/commanding a massive ship, which is pretty slow, not very maneuverable and at the mercy of the waves. Some of the best naval combat I've experienced in video games, and they managed to do it with console controllers. It could be repetitive if you were grinding for upgrades, but it was also quite satisfying to have a good battle - I loved taking out the legendary ships.
One of the best in this series, really enjoying Odyssey at the moment as well.
Just started installing rogue. I’ve played every one for the PS4 except for Origins and Odyssey. Will be getting them soon once rogue is done.
I only played Odyssey and Unity. Odyssey was brilliant and I played it for nearly 100 hours. Unity had a great world but the mechanics and story were lacking heavily. Do you think I can jump into Black Flag and still enjoy it after playing Odyssey first?

I’m pretty sure there is one before black flag which involves - tribe (the young kenway or his dad or something along them lines) Unless I’m getting mixed up and the story starts out as the character being in a tribe. Check the whole AC saga on Wikipedia and try to put them in order.

Ignore all that. I think the story precedes AC3 but has some sort of links. My guess would be buy AC3 then play black flag. Hopefully someone with more in-depth knowledge can help me out in explaining it.

Thanks mate but I meant more in terms of dated mechanics and storyline. I was wondering if this can be enjoyable after playing Odyssey which is the latest and most advanced of the series.

Ohhhh sorry mate. Erm I’m guessing origins and odyssey would be miles better as it’s produced for the PS4, black flag was ps3 and then remastered I believe? Black flag is worth it regardless IMO. The ship wars are something different and I think generally well received.
Heard this was one of the better ac games
Is this Remastered or just original PS3 port?

Not sure it can be classed as a remaster or port as it was a standard PS4 release as it released within weeks of the PS3 version.

It will feel a bit dated tbh, but it's not that bad. You'll be able to adjust to it.

I'd give Origins a go too, I personally preferred that over Odyssey

Because black flag is already on these consoles and they've been slowly remastering every game to the point where they only need to remaster AC 1 (or remake it) and the whole list of main entry AC games will be playable on ps4 or Xbox one.

You'll probably find that freerunning is alot more limited but still fairly easy to remember, story wise if you care about the specific order of the stories of what I refer to as the "America trilogy" then you have Black flag, Rogue and AC:III in historical order (rogue does have some overlap with unity aswell in time period and a massive spoiler that I won't mention). if you care about the modern day story (in your case Layla Hassan stuff, she's only in the most 2 recent games). then once you play rogue you might want to play the Ezio trilogy and then come back to play AC:III as then you'll understand everything but be warned Ezios games will fustrate you mechanically as the controls are very clunky by today's standards. But to answer about playing and enjoying black flag after Odyssey then yes you can as some of the things stated above point out story wise it's the beginning of a trilogy and mechanically it still feels quite similar but different, combat being the easiest thing.
