As a con trick, it ranks right up there alongside the rip-off prices of 'designer' perfumes. Would I ever consider thirty quid for a game a bargain? No chance whatsoever...

Hmm, pay £20 on PC and be stuck with it.

Or.

Pay £30 on console, complete it if you enjoy it, sell it on for £20+, end up paying less than PC.

Your logic is flawed. I love me a good cheap cd key to add to steam, but the entry to PC gaming alongside the unsellable games actually makes everything more expensive, especially in the long run.

Great example is spyro trilogy recently. Bought it on sale for £20, sold it on eBay for £25 after 100% in all three games. Technically I've been paid to enjoy 3 great games.

Decent price but still £9.99 more then I would want to pay.
Good price for an excellent game, almost 70hrs banked and still not finished main story
This is NATIONWIDE
May be nationwide but only if in stock, like those silly Argos deals that are always no stock, checked two Sainsbury’s by me and neither had it.

Also if you know someone who works at Sainsburys - the staff discount goes up to 15% for Christmas from today until the 4th January.

Each to their own I guess. I think anyone who has Sky, Virgin or any TV service is crazy and wasting a lot more money

Whilst i do agree with your sentiment, I don't mind paying extra knowing games will always, without fail, work straight out of the box, so to speak. I haven't had a single console game not work 1st time. That's obviously discounting any game that has just been downright broken or has fundamental issues contained within the coding of the game itself (I'm looking at you Alpha Protocol and Risen 1 on the 360). Then it's just a case of returning it to the store. As you yourself will appreciate, PC gaming isn't always straightforward or as straightforward as a lot of people make it out to be. So many people think PC gaming is as simple as getting a game to work on console. Sometimes there can be a lot of faffing around.

All that said, I haven't bought a single console game at full RRP in years and now only purchase via sales.
I'm playing this at the minute and I reckon it's one of the best assassins creed games ever.

Same. I'm level 30 on hard and it's too easy to get killed if you're careless sometimes. Got the DLC yet?
Used the double up nectar deal to get it for for nothing. But have to say its the best freebie ever. Really high quality game with a lot of thought put into it. Love playing it.

How much does a gaming PC cost?
you could complete AC and sell it on for £20 in a month or twos time.
I was just in Fareham Tesco’s and this was £25 on the shelf - should have taken picture but didn’t think. Not sure if anywhere else but seemed a good price to me.
Game of the Year for me, Red Dead is just too slow for me to be bothered playing, just over 70hrs on Odyssey, amaaaaaazing.

I've been a console gamer since the day I opened a Sega Megadrive on Christmas morning in 1991, and today the thought of playing a game like Grand Theft Auto of FIFA on a computer monitor, using a keyboard or some 3rd party control pad doesn't appeal to me one bit.

Nor does having to spend hundreds of pounds on huge computer monitors, graphics cards, sound cards, more RAM, and so on in order to play the latest games. It seems a total contradiction to talk just about the price of the games when discussing the price of PC gaming versus console gaming. I can buy a PS4 for a few hundred quid and connect it to the big TV, that I have already and it'll play all the latest releases out the box no problem, until the next console is released 7 or 8 years later.

If it's a game that I know won't take that long to finish then I see it as a bargain because I can sell it soon after. E.g. bought Spiderman for £43 on release day, sold it 10 days later after getting the platinum for £40. (there's very few titles I own that I'd never sell!)

This will take ages - I've spent about 25 hours on this and am no where near finished. possibly the best assassins creed game

Took me about 90h to get the platinum .
I don't usually like assassin's creed games but this is really a good open world RPG ,even a lot of the characters are written in a fun way and the combat is witchery but better , the world is really great and one of the biggest improvement over other open world games is that they removed the carry weight limit (has that ever been fun?)
Have I missed the nectar double up this year?

Bought a uplay key for Odyssey for £15 on eBay a few days ago. I paid for it after finishing the game on a grey copy - demo purposes obvs. Wanted to play it again as Kassandra on nightmare mode on the latest version. This is an amazing game - beats Witcher 3 and that was my fave RPG till now.
