How are the graphics on ps4?

They stand up
This was the 1st PS4 game that really impressed me with the graphics (the zoomed out ship view, with dynamic weather & sea)...
I recently booted it up on my Pro and despite no Pro patch, it's still impressive!

It's also got the best protagonist of any AC game - a morally ambiguous Welshman was such a refreshing change to all the pious Europeans... And who doesn't like pirates?
Definitely worth £5 - heat!
BubaMan19/09/2019 08:41

So it did... AC:BF did it better though

I'd be surprised if a game about pirates did it worse!

Thanks ! I played it way back on the 360, and even then it was decent .

Is this a shorter, more straight forward storyline. I've only completed about 60%, with just over 100 hours, of AC Odyssey as it became a bit of a grind and there were so many other games waiting to be started. Obviously with that length of time invested in ACO I did very much enjoy it, everything about it was excellent. I suppose I just lost the plot

It's open world but the story is linear, if that makes sense... It'll take about 30-60 hours to complete, depending on how many side quests you pick up.
It's not perfect as it still has a few "playable" Abstergo sequences but the main game is great - It's the game that introduced did sea battles and did it best!

I thought Assassins Creed 3 had ship battles?

I remember a ship in it anyway, and assumed the reason black flag came out is because how awesome it was being in a ship and fighting etc.

Sea of Thieves?

In all fairness, with friends and how the game is nowadays, it's not too bad

The water is also stunning!
I couldn't finish this game as I hated the sailing bits. Found them really boring
Worth playing for someone who got bored of the series halfway through 2?

If you got bored during the 2nd one I'm not sure you will like any of the others to be honest

Yes,this was the first AC I played through till the end, after that I enjoyed syndicate, origins. Playing odessey right now. Not 100% about the graphics holding up now though, I did honestly expect them to be better. I originally played it on the 360.
The most overrated Assassin's Creed game ever

In fairness I still think for the time is came out and AC 2 is the best with Black Flag a close second. Loved the end of Black Flag though and agree with @BubaMan that Kenway is a great character

I recon so. It’s more of a pirate simulator than an assassins creed game.
Had to bite
Thanks for posting @S-_L we have added this to today's Highlights

I've got to agree. I played it recently for the first time and the sailing parts were really boring. It didn't go into any detail with the sailing mechanics, so you just choose direction and speed. And then the ship battles become really tiresome, with the same tactics working for just about any battle (go round in circles firing the mortar).

Edit: The rest of the game is great though!

I have this on Pc as Uplay gave it away for free a year or so back. It's amazing. Been said that it's more a pirate simulation them an assassin's creed game though and they aren't entirely wrong.

I find AC games dull; this has been the only game I've completed in recent memory.
Rogue just didn't grab me.

Sally Brown -she's the gal for me, boys...
Played it for a while but the samey gameplay and those completely game ruining scenes where you are in the Asbergo? building killed it for me. The Gfx aren’t that good either.

It's as though people have completely forgotten how good AC 2, brotherhood and revelations were. Its like everyone jumps on the AC 4 bandwagon. It's unbelievably repetitive; literally half the game is either tailing someone or shooting down other ships. I really don't see anything special. Its a completely bland game with no variation in the missions. Ezio is a much more lovable character than Edward. Even Connor is too. And also the silly first person present missions were just boring and unnecessary, and didn't even really mean anything.
