Any good mods recommended?

Get on racedepartment and go nuts. You can triple the games content instantly.

Personal fave is the Nissan Primera BTCC.

Such good mod support.
I have been on the fence with this and Project cars, i did buy Project cars on the PC but quickly refunded it due to just hating it's whole control and feel, or to put it bluntly lack of both on that game, and it sort of put me off other racing games like this, and i am still looking for that perfect track racing game that supports VR, although i have Dirt rally and Euro truck sim to fill in the small driving VR gaps, but still missing a track racing game for VR, so is this the same a PC cars control wise, or is it actually playable without me having to spend 2 hours fixing control and driving settings that should have been set by the game devs, i can't be bothered with all that to be honest, nothing wrong if you like that kind of game but that is not for me.

People say Assetto Corsa is more of a proper sim. I've never driven a car on a track so I'm not sure which is more realistic. As a very casual racer for me it is far easier to drive without assists in Assetto Corsa than Project Cars.

The VR while driving is excellent. There is however the annoyance of the menus not being in VR which means you have to take your VR headset off to navigate the main menus.
^^^Right, thanks for the info, i will give this a miss then, yes i am also a casual racer but i enjoy the Forza and GT games because they get it just right for me, not a total sim but neither a compete arcadey game.

Of course i say i am not into sims yet i play euro truck sim with all the setting on, full fatigue, rest periods, all the road laws and speed limits, heavy load and wide deliveries. lol
I use assetto corsa to learn new tracks before I take my track car out on the real circuit
It's usually pretty close in lap times

The best mod I use of the BTCC mod from triple 7 Racing

Plus the open wheeler mods are great too

Some older mods don't work with newer version of AC so be prepared fur some tinkering of files

IMO this is the best SIM
Had project cars but could never get the ffb on my Fanatec any good
Haven't loaded it in over 18 months
Good game, played it lots before PC2 but since PC2 was released I haven't touched this again.
Brilliant game runs 1080p on my integrated intel 520 bought it for £10 with all dream packs from G2A
11.99 including the 3 dream packs...

Asseto gives you the options to make it less Sim like (e.g. turn off tyre degradation and enable driver aids etc). For me it is best when you have a steering wheel and drive an open cockpit car (like an F1 car) in VR. Personally I haven't found any racing game which is better in VR, although as the above posted said, I wish they would let you access the menus in VR.
whats the single player career like ?
Absolutely brilliant game, beem playing since original early access. Has come so so far since then. Worth without a doubt every penny. Mods on race department are massively extensive now too
Clocked up nearly 700 hours on AC. Best sim by far for physics and handling, IMO. The modding community is amazing too. Recommended.
Is taht a new Corsa?
Worth every penny for anyone who likes a true car game!

The mods for drifting are fantastic and the amount of tracks that are available will keep you entertained forever

whats the single player career like ?

Not fleshed out . but id say its not made for career /story mode. Well above any other driver sim for PC for me
Also what's the BTTC mod like ? Does it give you a tournament or anything like the old tocca used to be like. ie a season of bttc.?
Is it worth buying the DLC ?

Is it worth buying the DLC ?

Personally I would say yes. The quality of the in house cars and tracks is pretty phenomenal
Assetto was the defacto...I'm a die hard fan... HOWEVER I must say I bought pcars 2..and gave it some time for me to adjust.. yes the ffb is not as homed in for feedback, but after reviewing various forums is more accurate. Add weather to it and it's a whole new ball game. Personally I have both and love them both, price is a bargain..
I’m a track marshal, this is most definitely more realistic than project cars.
Excellent game, well worth £9.19.
What’s it like with an Xbox 360 pad? Is it playable without a steering wheel?
By far THE best driving experience on PC with VR. Voted HOT HOT HOT!

Not worth it, this game is ment to be played with a wheel
"What’s it like with an Xbox 360 pad?.."

It's a bit twitchy, but better than nothing if you don't have a wheel - particularly if you want to try it in VR with an Oculus Rift
