Any good from a personal perspective?

Any good from a personal perspective?

I’ve not tried this one but the original Assetto Corsa was considered very good racing sim type game with very good physics but lacking graphics detail. A lot depends on what type of racing game you like, do you prefer more arcade or more racing sim? The reviews are very good for a racing sim type with better physics than Project Cars 2 but not as good graphics and far less variety of cars and tracks/weather styles.
This is still the original AC + DLC btw. Very good on PC but I haven’t tried it on console. I’d say a wheel/pedal setup would be best. If you don’t have a wheel, I’d recommend GT Sport with pad motion control for steering, it’s brilliantly done.
I find this game impossible with a pad but good with a steering wheel.

I have a Logitech G920 and am considering getting this for my Xbox One X but not sure if I should bother as I have Forza 7. Are they comparable?

I've not played Forza 7 but have 6. I got that steering wheel for Christians so haven't had a proper chance to spend a huge amount of time in either game, but so far I prefer AC, but probably because I haven't played it so much due to how bad it is with a gamepad.

Yeh, I have heard it's impossible with a pad! Wonder how a game can be released when the controller is simply not allowing for you to drive in a straight line!
Do you have to unlock vehicle or can you jump into whatever you like from minute one?
Going to give this a shot on pc

it’s about £9.50 -didn’t know it existed.
It is playable with a pad. With some cars.
All the vehicles are unlocked.

Very different. Forza is fairly arcade like compared to this. AC is a pretty hard sim racer. The single player “career” isn’t up to much of that is what you are after and as others have said, it’s really made for a wheel.
As a sim, with a wheel (and also with VR on the PC), it’s very good.
If you want something a little bit more arcady, but more accurate than Forza, I’d go with Project Cars (1 or 2). You should be able to pick 2 up for this price.
Thank OP! I have bitten the bullet so to speak and purchased! I have an Xbox One X and play FM7 with a Logitech G920 which I have finally managed to find some great settings online! There are a lot of parameters around setting up a wheel and find that Logitech don't provide any suggestions which to me is ridiculous, given there are like 5-10 games that would work with the wheel, you would think the manufacturer would provide the recommended settings for each but hey... I hear it's a good experience using the wheel.on Assetto and doesn't require much fooling around, so finger crossed! PS, I really think the pedals on wheels should vibrate too!
