Dont get me wrong, serious about my music - esp. the sound quality. Picked up a the Hugo Chord for music on the go, the LG V30+ for the DAC with proper earbuds 50 OHM & just picked up Nura headphones - the list goes on sadly but this is just ridicolous.

High end audio enthusiasts will recognise this as a great deal, anyone not aware of the hobby is going to spit out their coffee when they read the price tag. I have a feeling I know which side is going to win out here, but I'll be voting hot all the same.

No just no - I am into HQ audio music period. Home audio set up is a customised 9.1 setup. This is just nonsense.

Just because it has a high price tag do not be fooled. You can get far, far better quality at this price - do your research and actually go and demo the products as opposed to seeing a brand name with a ridiculous price tag fooling you into thinking brand name + high price MUST equal best sound ever!

I've got to admit, I'm confused about why this deal is so outrageous to you when you've spent probably upwards of £1500 on your Hugo?

Sorry meant Mojo - got it tax free.

And you can get much better quality, if not on par, better specc'ed portable products at this price today

That makes a bit more sense then, the Mojo gets my vote as the best value audio source component on the market today, either desktop or portable. I've yet to hear a DAC/amp combo I like better for under £2000 for driving anything other than a pair of top-end planars.

What do you rate higher than than the A&K as a portable media player for around £500? I always try and have a listen to new PMPs at shows like CanJam or whenever I visit an enthusiast headphone store and their stuff always impresses me more than other offerings.

What would they be looking at instead?
Still using my iriver ihp-140. Tried the AK JR, but still prefer the physical buttons on the old models. Plus it has Rockbox and is built like a tank!

this is very entry model, if someone spent £2000k for dac and £3000 for headphone surely wont be saving for decent player with for example high storage capacity,

if you after entry model go for cowon p1, can be found for 300-400 second hand, i try few sub £1000 players and this one is superb
At £5.23 it would be worth the risk

Like all portable devices you can pick up a protection case for them. Hopefully strong enough not to break them.
Judging by that graph it's been on a downward spiral for days. A few more days it may be even cheaper (if left alone).

lonely-hearts ads
Just done some checking and it would seem this product is being discontinued in favor of their newer devices -hence i guess the price drop -I wonder if it will go lower? might be worth a wait and see. at £300ish it would be a HOT bargain.

Try a serious reply. You are suggesting people avoid this product because there are better products for around the same price. If you are unable to provide any examples, then why bother commenting to begin with? Conjecture doesn't help anyone.

Go do your homework - suggestions have been made. If you are too lazy to read the alternatives by other users or search and do your research then the suggestion I made is good for you.
Back up to £749 now! Fingers off the checkout button, lads.
There is nothing about this that makes it worth the price.

It is simply for the 'I have better than you' audio snobs, who call themselves audiophiles, with more money than sense.
