Picture fixed. Just bought the 10 pack from the same seller. Never bought them before but recently switched from the more modern razors.

Good price, if I didn't still have 99 Astra blue blades left I'd buy these!

Good price. Good blades!

How long/many shaves does one blade last?

Thinking of switching to a DE razor.

Pretty subjective really. I get around 4/5 shaves, others I know get a few more. Well worth it tho, de shaving us the way forward.

2 or 3 for me.

Good deal, but I already have tons.

2 for me so 2p per shave

Hot,usually use feathers but a years shaving for under six quid?can't be bad.

Thanks Op. Hot

decent blade and crazy price.

i used a merkur blade (not sure if they have different types but it was the platinum coated one) and gave an an excellent shave yesterday. an exceptional glide with the futur razor.

How do you compare these with Gillette fusion ?

I normally use each edge only once. I could probably get away with more but there's nothing like that ultra sharp feeling - and at this price...

WAY BETTER. I'm 50, and have wet shaved all my life. As a treat when in Spain I always pay for a barber shave (only 5 euros) because i couldn't believe how much closer they shave than ANY cartridge system can get for me.
I recently went to DE shaving and get the same results. it takes some getting used to, and I do have a few small scrapes, but try it and see if it is for you.

and now £5.55 with barber trade!

I'm tempted, but I find I can shave in the shower with Pro Glide Fusions without paying full attention and never nick or cut myself. I doubt I'd have the patience to use a DE blade.

I using Gillette 7 o'clocks at the moment and have about 3 blades left

How do these compare to them?

Might take a punt

Thanks, could you also recommend a decent razor to use these?
cheers.

Same here, using Derby extra blades at the moment one shave per edge so 4 shaves a blade, any one know how astra's compare with derby's?

More info, I'm using a Parker Razor.

Derby pack of 100 also great at £4.50 delivered from Barber Trade. Hire do these compare?

merkur HD 34g i use.never go back to paying for rip off mach3 etc

But can you shave blind in the shower like I can with my Cheapo Mach 3 clone from Lidl or do you need that hairy brush and all the paraphernalia?

I'm tempted, just paid £9.90 for 100 not so long ago, which was a bargain, but for this price it's hard to resist!!

Might have to start shaving me legs or something get through these...

You need the 'hairy brush and all the paraphernalia'! I've never got on with the cartridge razors as they always give me a rash. DE shaving gets me a closer shave, for cheaper, and no rash. However, it takes more time. It's not something you can do in the shower, you need to take time and patience. It's worth it, but it will take you another five minutes probably.

imo Derbys are very smooth, but lack the sharpness of the Astra SP so the Derbys take more passes.
Astra SP are my personal favourite, I bought the same item from this seller about November last year and I'm still got 3/4 of the box left.
At £5.60 for 100 they are a steal, 5.6p a blade vs ~ £2.50+ a cartridge for a Gillette (and DE is nicer experience) its a no brainer imo.

Would get these if I hadn't bought 50 the other week and have loads of other brands to use too. Great deal though.

Can I just buy any "handle" part to connect these to or does it have to be a specific one? Thanks

Take a look at the HKUD DE Shaving thread here

You need to spend a little to get going, but will not regret it! You save money, and it makes shaving something to look forward to in the mornings!

No any de razor will do. Probably the best starter is a merkur 34c. Can find in amazon for 25 quid, but occasionally 16-17 quid. It'll be a razor you will use for years. I've been shaving de for about 5 years, and still use my 34c. But you can go cheaper or a lot more expensive.

The two most popular 'go to' razors are the Edwin Jagger DE89 (try the L model for the lined handle) and the Merkur 34C. I have both and they're much of a muchness.

I would pay the 5p extra as there are so many fakes around (barber trade only has 5 ratings)

Thank you

ordered from shaving world rather than barber shop as SW has more ratings. thanks OP! Gonna see how they compare to my Derby Extras.

This is an example of where this site has actually saved me money

This is a good price but I found these razors didn't give as many shaves as Shark or Feather blades and did dull quickly. I used them with an Edwin Jagger DE89 btw.

Description is slightly iffy ie "reputedly sharp and smooth" and its 20 cartons of 5 blades not 5 cartons of 20 blades. Astra SPs are pretty good and I've used them them for the last year or so. 2 packs of 100 ordered - thanks OP

Hot deal - normally about £9 from Ebay and thats if you order from abroad.

Decent blades for single/double use as they dont cut as close as others like Feathers for example, but are more comfortable for it.

Great price and would vouch for them as have used them extensively myself. Heat.

Thanks op! A few weeks ago bought a edwin jagger razor and a rimei razor as I wasn't prepared to pay around £10 for 4 odd gillette blades. Find this old school razors much better and a closer shave!

Thanks - I paid £9.90 for 100 of these in June 2012 and just getting to the end of them. Ordered 200 for £11 which could be four year's worth!!

Personally I get two shaves per blade - 'shave 3' starts getting scratchy but then I only tend to shave twice a week.
