That's the gen 2 headset, the one in the original post is gen 3.

Clearly not the same ones, they are the old A50's.

that moment you try to look clever but fail miserably

heat added great price

Agreed, they are Gen 3. The difference being the cradle to charge it. Fantastic headphones, but I always look for the bargain set as they are stupidly expensive. Not worth the difference in this case IMHO. I have Gen 1 and bought Gen 2 X-Box ones at the Argos price for PC use. The difference apart from colour was the change of USB charging port shape. The Gen 2 at that price is a better deal than the Gen3, so stick your clever comments where the sun does not shine

Could you be a little bit more precise as to where exactly please, as it's very dark grey and dreary today so there's so many sun-less options? (_;)

I've not tried the gen 3 but have two pairs of Gen 2, and they are excellent. If you're not fussed about the cradle, the gen 2's come with a stand and are so worth the £135 Argos are selling them for. £200 for Gen 3 is also a hot price though.

The gen 2's are good for sure but I disagree with you. £65 more for the newest gen is a better deal. Many on the Astro gaming forum have tested against the gen 2 and find better quality. And it's not just the dock that's the difference. They are 100% wireless which is a big difference for someone like me. Your initial post insinuated the exact same headset can be had for less and now you're back peddling. It's the ignorance of all the people who voted this deal cold that made me miss out on these for £199.99 back in November when again is was voted cold. However the PS4 ones that are in here right now at the same price are hot. Go figure.

I have all of them and find the gen 3 far superior. Completely wireless solution and customizable equaliser alone makes the additional cost worth it for me. They also have a 15 hour battery life and mod kit support so far superior in terms of hygiene and longevity. Well worth £200 which seems to be Game's standard in store price as they've been £200 in store since November.

Use the code GAME2017 this weekend and you'll get these for £179.99

Xbox ones are OOS now

have been for weeks..... loosing sales.....

I agree this is a great price, as are the gen 2 ones posted above from argos. One point to note is the gen 3 are console specific, whereas although the gen 2 are branded as console specific they'll work across the platforms. This is in terms of chat to clarify. The ps4 gen 3 will work in xbox (and vice versa) but only the audio. I've had this confirmed by astro and is to do with the licence for the chip in the base to allow wireless chat.
