Agreed; a great deal. I don't get the cold.

i voted cold cos while it's cheaper it's still not a great deal compared to others i've seen, a 120gb ssd can be bought on amazon for £40 so it's still £245 for a 1060 6gb when I've seen a rx480 8gb for between £190 and £220 this past week

The fact that Asus cards are overpriced tat doesn't mean that a GTX 1060 is worth £319, when you can get a different model for close to £100 less that performs just as well. Even more so with Pascal cards, where overclocking has been standardised to the point that every card caps out around the same 2050-2150MHz mark, with the top end of that scale being a lottery even among the highest end cards (and being largely irrelevant, since we're talking a performance difference of a couple of percent at most). And even more so still with the 1060 specifically, which is such a cool and efficient GPU that a gigantic triple-fan cooler is entirely pointless, when the single fan cooler on Gigabyte's Mini ITX OC model keeps it around 70°C and inaudible.

If you want to pay the Asus tax just to have their name on the box that it arrives in, that's a personal decision. It doesn't in any way make it a bargain though. This is just bringing it down to a vaguely-sensible price, where it should have been in the first place.

cheers man, its not my post but at least you giving that indication of why cold then allows others to go and check out the other deals (that is after all why we are all here). good response bro.

regardless its a bagain hunting site and your personal feelings on the maker of the card and how much they charge do not constitute it being a bad deal. i can get a £150 android phone that can do the same stuff as an iPhone, but i dont see many people voting cold on iphone deals solely on that basis, the asus cards are woth what asus choose to price them at getting it cheaper with an ssd is a good deal in my opinion and therefor constitutes a hot vote on a deal site, a sink and fairy liquid do the same job as a dish washer but you can still appreciate a good deal on a dishwasher when you see it. just my 2p

Yeah man, totally get it, can be annoying when you see cold posts with no responses, especially when they do look like good deals

I was gonna post a message but you said everything I was gonna right down to the stupid 3 fan, overprice card, where my evga 1060 sc does 2100mhz at 63 deg and a silent 42% fan speed, and the whole whopping difference from stock using gpu boost upto 1900+mhz to using the 2100 oc is a massive 2 frames, slightly better 1% & 0.1% lows, most 1060's will hit the 2000mhz meaning for all that extra cash you get 1 whole extra frame, it's not even worth taking that frame anyway since the power limit gets bumped up as do temps, not worth ringing the neck out of it, there's no visible difference but you will hear the fan as temps go up and throttle more adding in extra juice.

Given your explanation, wouldn't not voting either way been better?

.....the asus cards are woth what asus choose to price them at.....

Actually, they're worth what people are willing to pay rather than what they price them at. Haven't voted either way, but unless someone can explain why the ASUS version is worth significantly more than a similar spec card from their competitors, I'd say this deal is 'tepid' at best....

Why vote at all, the majority are deals in their own right and stands to reason ending up to be hot deals, so negates the voting system as there would be little difference. The disparity between one deal and another would be the person voting and that is open to personal opinion
