Seems rather expensive now for a 1080p monitor.

This! Not to mention build quality, panel quality, scalers, etc. There is far more to picture quality than just resolution.
There are 240hz monitors that are a little more hence why this seems rather expensive in comparison. The alienware model or Pixio hayabusa come to mind.

1080p at 27" suuucks, so glad I replaced mine. It's good enough at 22-24" but at 27" you really need QHD for anything that isn't exclusively gaming.
TN & 1080p for £260, cold for me.
+ this is a 27 inch monitor, pixio hayabusa or alienware 24 inch is somewhere around 250. So cant compare 27 inch price with 24 inch models.

24.5" but they are faster. High refresh and low response are this monitors main selling points and they offer superior performance so just saying. This would make more sense at 200-225. Unfortunately ASUS monitors tend to be overpriced for what they offer much like the rest of their product catalogue.
