So, this is not intended as a high end motherboard for extreme over-clocks or anything like that, although it may be suitable for this wanting to build a small form factor/steam machine type build,or just build to a lower budget. You could even use it for a

Its FM2+ board so ill add the compatible CPU list in the comments for you to take a look at. There are a few choices, although this seems to be a fairly solid choice at this price point.

Hot from me. Cannot go wrong with Asus and the AMD APUs are better the cheapest the build

Hi little nephew wants gaming pc for Xmas was thinking an Alienware pc world £500, but would rather buy the bits and build one up for him, would this be any good as the basis? Saw a graphics card £100 mark earlier on here any good? A little shopping list would be nice? Any input much appreciated

I duno about this board, if you want to use an APU the graphics depend heavily on the RAM for performance increases and only to DIMM slots isnt amazing for it

The lack of HDMI rules out this board for a HTPC for me.

here's what I spec in Dec for a cheap gaming rig
Coolermaster K350 chassis £24
Fractal Integra R2 500w PSU £40
Asrock z97 mobo £72
Pentium G3258 £48
8gb Corsair vengance mem £65
Silverstone argon fan £26
dvd £10
AMD R9 270x graphics £115
1tb disk £50
approx £450 plus windows tax
don't know what prices are now, but £500 is a reasonable budget

Excellent gaming pc for the money by jzedward
I built a gaming PC for my son 15 months ago.
AMD 6300 Black Edition
Asus M5A97 R2.0
HyperX FURY Series 8GB
Decent 2GB graphics card like jzedward recommended above
I tend to like AMD but others love Intel
If it is for xmas next year buy the bits as you go along. I got the MBoard, memory and graphics card on deals placed on this website.

Don't under any circumstances get an Alienware our anything from pc world. You will end up with a terrible pc, not value for money. Building your own is your best bet but not using this board, you want intel as mentioned above.

what cpu and ram for this for 100? For Internet, youtube etc. and what small case up to 40? I don't like k350 want something smaller.

So,

I didn’t say it wasn’t — no need to be defensive.

If you want to keep the price down I'd build this: uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/M…vcf should be fine for everything but playing games that haven't been out about 5 years.

Get an AMD athlon 860k (£50) It's a A10 without integrated graphics
