Considering the high standards you set this is cold. None HD screen, rockchip processor and only 16gb storage. For £229 I can get a Dell Chromebook with HD touchscreen and 64gb of storage. amazon.co.uk/gp/…XM2

But it is £30 cheaper. Still better than all non touchscreen chromebooks which do not play Android Playstore apps very well . I posted the Dell one as well here. Also Acer has very good quality and always support and update bios etc.

Why don't you just buy a 10" tablet? Does the same thing. The virgin telly tablet weighs in about the same as this but has a bigger screen

Because it does update like Chromebook. Chromebook gets free updates from Google, Android tablets do not. Plus the attached keyboard is good to do any serious stuff. Touchscreen Chromebook is best of tablet and laptop for cheap.
I utterly adore my Chrome book (ignore maker - go Intel... OP1 Processor ? Dunno Rock-Chip summit? ) with the foldy back screen, giving numerous permutations as to how it is used. If My highly reliable Acer CB R11 were............to fail .............. I would be here :-) checking out what a Rock-Chip is? Flinstones??

So it's a laptop, but not as good or powerful as a laptop. It's just a big phone. But you can't phone anyone. So it's a tablet .... with a keyboard ...... for £200.

Oh my
Great Chromebook. I have one and can say it does everything I need.

Office work
YouTube
Netflix (with download ability)
Internet surfing
Spotify
Etc

Great buy at £199, heat added

Hmm seems like people are voting chromebooks in general cold, rather then understand the pricing and variation of the products

People mentioning "why not just get a tablet". Well you lose the whole usability the flip brings

Why do people buy chromebooks or apple products when they can get the cheaper windows alternatives, right?

Because most schools in uk have made it mandatory. Chromebooks are easy to administer for schools and do not cost like apple products

I bought one of these in a refurbished deal a couple of months ago. Well built, with a nice metal outer case, and a decent (although not 1080p) screen. It is now my internet browsing machine of choice, and a good little Chromebook. My only issue is that the touchscreen is a little unresponsive in tablet mode, so I tend to use it mostly in laptop mode, and utilise the touchscreen as needed
