This chromebook is down in price again below £400. I bought one the last time this deal was on and haven't regretted it. The C434 is newer with a bigger screen, but the C302 is enough for my needs. Hope this helps someone

I have one and it's okay. Screen not the best (especially around the edges) and 4GB really is a minimum these days.

Hear you on the 4gb, but for a Chromebook this is almost like the equivalent of 8/16 on a Windows machine, with Android apps you would see the benefit but even as a power user, for now this is ample
These are good machines ( I have one), just be aware auto update policy for this is November 2022, manual updates may still work though.

Newer machines get approx 6.5 year from release date, it's worth looking at the specs, age and cost and what you want one for here:

Doesn't this look a lot like a macbook?

The screen is good actually, most decent reviewers agree.

The thing that irritates me is that it has not got Linux support added because of it's processor not one of the ones given the support, yet it has update support from Google for a good few years left.
Got this a couple years ago from CeX - brilliant little machine and use it 90% of the time over my desktop as I'm usually browsing the web. Handles simple word processing well too, especially so if you're happy with Google Docs. Word files a bit more hit and miss in terms of workflow though.

I assume this was in response to my post (but you quoted someone else). It looks like there are multiple manufacturers of the screen:

Which would explain why some people think its great and others not so good. It's not just my experience of the screen however - other have observed the same:

If you are happy with your's I wouldn't advise looking at the edges with a white screen. Once you notice it , you can't ignore it.
