Would it be worth buying one of these and a cheap monitor to use as a basic PC instead of my laptop?

What is your thinking of doing that ?

Nice for converting your telly to a mini smart TV. Imagine watching porn on a 65 inch telly. Trust me, it's as close to the real thing!

Might as well get a firestick for that

Well i don't understand your thinking of chucking a laptop away for a monitor and this chromebit which would be vastly inferior to your laptop. Your idea has zero benefits, so once again what is your thinking; what are you trying to achieve ?

Well, it would be sufficient for light web browsing and web based applications (office online for example) as the OS has a small footprint.

If you have a laptop currently, it may not benefit to switch to this as performance would be a lot lower (this assuming your current laptop exceeds 1.8ghz and 2gb RAM) but it is a decent small fix from ground zero.

Are you trying brag you have a 65 incher.

Could you run Sky Go on this?

I am struggling to see the use case for this. An android, fire or PC sticks would be able to do a 100 times more stuff than this. Even a chromecast dongle is perhaps better!

Expired as the price is now £99.98

Wait until you try it in VR!! oO

No. It is very limited. Only to the web where internet is available. You're better off with an android box and a cheap monitor if you don't wish to spend a lot.

I guess 3D TVs have their uses after all.

Don't forget 'allegedly' at the end of that!

My main use case for using Chromebit's over Chromecasts/firesticks is they are one of the few devices of this type that support WPA-Ent / 802.1x so you can use them on enterprise wifi networks. Worth remembering if you are taking one to Uni with you if you stay in residences.

Did any one manage to get one of these before the price went back up?
