It's been this price for a lil while, bought it back in January for my daughter for her college work, she has not complained about it all. My other daughter has the hp stream and that gets moaned about all the time for being slow. This one she uses for all her work and for watching movies, it's certainly better than the stream has been.

On the other hand, it's not the best Chromebook I've used. Poor build, poor CPU, poor screen.

However, Android and Linux support are a plus.
Same price in argos. argos.co.uk/pro…646

I'm no computer pro, far from it. Just a parent who buys for her kids. But if something is slow or doesn't work the way they expect it to I never hear the end of it. Works well for a student and the price is reasonable too good if you are on a tight budget

I agree. I have a lot of time for Chromebooks, having owned 3 myself, and 2 for my daughter. It's just this particular model was poor compared to my previous one. So it went back and I spent my money on a much more expensive Windows machine (more so I could get back to some gaming than anything else).
But I wouldn't hesitate to buy a new Chromebook. It's just so many people have blinkered ideas about what they can do, especially now.
What’s going on with Amazon Renewed ? Search for a laptop and all the top listings are refurbished ones and it’s difficult to find the brand new ones

It's rubbish isn't it! It puts me off from buying from there!

I've been looking at this Chromebook, is the screen really poor in terms of viewing angles? I'd be using it for watching Netflix etc when travelling.

Well, it's a cheap CB with a low end TN, not a great Chromebook from Asus.

Would you stay with a tablet then for mainly watching Netflix/Prime Videos as a lot of the low end Cb's seem to have poor screens?
Wow that’s light at less than 1kg. I’m looking for something as light but ideally with better spec from the comments I’ve read. Any recommendations?
