John Lewis has reduced the price for this Chromebook. This is very good Chromebook with full aluminium body and 1080p touchscreen. This is also recently released so should be covered for many years. John Lewis will offer 2 year warranty with this. Free delivery.

Worth paying £50 for those features.

Good price, heat added. I'm personally waiting for the ASUS C434 which *should* be released before the end of next week if the rumours are true.

Yup, it should be release soon. But 434 will be much higher in the price of course with added advantages.
Heat, seems a fair price. Backlit keyboard would have been great but great to see a decent touchscreen Chromebook around the £300 mark.

It was £379 before dropping down to £299.99 now.
Looks good, is it fully convertible?
I considered this but opted for the acre 15 as the battery life on the asus isn’t great in comparison

Intersting comparision review found here

Both supported until Nov 2023

Heat for price. For me the Intel Pentium processor is weak for my needs but a super portable Chromebook

Acer 15 is equally good, I did not like the plastic layer at bottom though. This Asus is complete aluminium build.

Celeron though, so not as good there either.

The Celeron is a 2 core Atom and this a 4 core Atom. It is just that the new Atoms get more variably named.
Nothing to do with Intels normal iCore CPUs.

What do you mean by fully convertible?

To a tablet I expect

In all honesty, you wont go wrong with this or the Acer 15. I've been using the later for 5 months now and absolutely love it. It was the best £206 I spent in 2018 for sure.

But, with the risk of going off topic, surely HP x360 would be a better bet than the C434? i3 processor and twice the RAM for fifty quid less.

We have to see price for 434. For now Amazon is taking pre-orders for £599, not sure if it will stay same after launch.

If it's less, it's definitely going to be a possibility. Wish they'd hurry up. My 7 year old HP Envy DV6 just died this morning!
Good price. Shame there's not play store support on this model.

It does have Play Store support according to their website.
Beware the screen on this is trash, 768p with a TN screen. Other than that it's actually ok. Not worth more than £250 though. Spring the extra and grab the Acer 15 Chromebook for £399 IMO.

This one has 1080p screen.
TN screen ehhhh
FuzzyDuck6925/03/2019 19:15

What makes you say that?

Don't quote me, but I think it could be that the specs say:

'Screen Resolution: 1920 x 1080 pixels'
And if you're a partner you can get it for £100 off plus discount.
Can you make PowerPoints (not just Google Slides) on a chromebook?
Edited by: "buyitall" 25th Mar
@buyitall Yes you can do basic editing online with Onedrive.com, or local editing with Powerpoint Android app (will need a paid Office 365 subscription for the latter)
Thanks. Does this boot up quite quickly and navigate quickly when browsing? My current laptop is sooooo slow.

It says ‘yes’ next to touchscreen in the specs but if you filter the chromebooks on JL website by ‘touchscreen’ feature, it does not come up.

Yes! This will boot up in less than 5 seconds. Its run ChromeOS, so its amazing for web browsing. Faster than a windows laptop alternative. You will love it,
