    I bought this for my 9 year old boy (education and fun) - TBH it's way too much for a child - beautifully built and really stunning machine. I thought - it's almost too good for him (all metal premium build, unlike most at this price point). Stunning screen, but the keyboard is it's weak point (design of the colours can make it difficult to see the keys in poor light - backlight makes it worse at times - ok during the day). The actual key press is fantastic. All in all - stunning build. You can get this now for £200 in Very - IMHO you will not get better for it's money

    Or buy any older “normal” laptop, install Google Chrome Flex. It runs amazing- and not limited by unchangable ssd or not upgradable RAM. Still hot price though…

    Flex doesn't support Play store or Android apps though.

    Flex cam be a good option to repurpose an old Laptop but a full Chromebook does give you Google Play access which is great with a touch screen convertible like this one.

    I have an Asus 17 inch chromebook (few months old, under £200) and I find it brilliant compared to Windows and Xubuntu, (you can run windows and linux as well, without a restart, if you must) and highly recommend Asus and chrome. Because chrome does not need a fast processor to run, er, fast you also save loads on electric charges, no small thing, these days.

    I got one of these yesterday and I'm really impressed, it feels like a much more expensive machine than it is. The keyboard is great to type on, but as others have said it can be difficult to read with the backlight on, far from a deal breaker though.

    If I had a 10 year old, I wouldn't buy it. It can be bought for a lower age. I use it at work. Terrible performance.
