Heated, it's a OK deal considering graphics card pricing is ludicrous lately, thanks to bloody mining so those buying them for their primary purpose have to pay over the odds. Can't believe RX580s are selling up to £500, not even an impressive card technically, just a VERY minor RX480 refresh. XBox One X money for a mid range graphics card, the world has gone mad....
At the current price I don't know why anyone would pick up an rx580 over a GTX 1070.
Rx cards are selling super well thanks to how well they work mining the new crypto currencies so don't expect current gen cards to drop at all for quite a while.

580 and 480 are the current best mining cards thats why they are sold out everywhere. Shame I got a 980ti I could have sold a 480 for more than I paid and made a tidy profit.
Only 3gb!
Mad prices! Looking into it i can't see mining with a one GPU set-up worthwhile (unless your have free electricity and don't mind having your PC/GPU on the go 24/7). Looks like maybe 2 quid a day in today's climate.
Brrrrrr....

For just 23 quid more at Laptops direct you can get a 6gb 1060 which not only has more memory but also has all the cores available unlike the cut down 3gb ones

This is crazy and I never knew until reading this post.

I purchased a RX480 Nitro + 8GB just before christmas for £200 and it's now worth nearly £400.

Well that's it- i just don't think it is worthwhile for me but i found some interesting ideas on Reddit when i searched for my "GPU plus Bitmining" so there is quite a lot of ideas out there.
Hmm, thought about mining before but didn't think it would be worth it for the average user either. Might have to rethink. Thing is, is it true that it is really bad for the GPU and can/will kill it within months?

Don't want to ruin my PC for a few extra £s per week, if it's even that?

That said, I would have thought that so long as the cooling is good enough to stop it overheating at full load, it should be ok....
