AMD cards are better value at the moment 100%. But AMD they have only a tiny market share, most go with nvidia. This a good price for those who want a new white 3060 ti. (edited)

Very unlikely. That would go against and undermine the entire strategy of keeping 3000 series pricing so high. Why would they give tons of people a cheap upgrade on the eve of launching new products? It'd just damage the launch of the new cards. Especially given that the 4060 Ti is only 10% faster than this, with the same amount of VRAM (with the option to double it for a large premium). Prices will likely drop a little on cards like the 3060 Ti to reflect the 4060 Ti's new place in the stack, but there won't be any fire sale. Nvidia aren't worried about stock sitting around unsold at this point. They could wait another year before fire sale pricing and still have no problem clearing all remaining stock within days (if not hours).

benchmarks have shown very little difference between the 3060ti and 4060ti. <10% often ~5%. The 4060 ti is more power efficient.
