I concur

deal is only £19 off - not £306.99 but £360.99 - quite a big difference - having said that these look like pretty sweet devices, in hot demand at the moment

I agree, the IPlod is not much more expensive, and overpriced.
So this is way over priced.

AYE

The iPad has the most apps, fab customer service, and it is overpriced, and I used to be set against the iPad convinced it is a waste of money, etc but now I couldn't live without it.

I am sure everyone wants an iPad, or at least wouldnt mind having one, but people just become bitter because they can't afford it or because they want to do hardcore computer stuff on it. FFS, its a **** tablet.

p.s. I am not havin a go at anyone here.

ok, on you go, waste your money on this excessively overpriced piece of ****. Joke, it is nice, etc but I wouldn't buy this tbh.

the only time I have had problems is on the build a bear website, and even then I can just go on my laptop or desktop. Most sites I use dont use flash, I use the net for forums, email, no games and videos, etc.

nd that tablet looks nothing compared to the iPad, and how many apps are available on it? what OS does it run. The iPad is a tablet but its more than a touchscreen computer, way different from that whilst this asus tablet whilst it may be good, I wouldnt spend that much on it, anythng under £200

I just saw this price on the over thread and got all excited just to see it was a typo.

If all you want to do is surf the web with it from the comfort of your sofa then this is arguably better than an ipad as it can cope with flash based sites and the ipad can't.

If however that is all you are going to use it for then buy an advent vega for a couple of hundred pounds instead.

If you want a decent selection of apps designed for tablets then at this pricepoint you would be better off with an ipad atm, honeycomb is not well supported in that respect yet.

By the time honeycomb is well supported with dedicated apps android tablets will be much cheaper than this and more powerful.

Before everyone **** me off, i got my Motorola Xoom yesterday and must admit i'm quite impressed with the internet browsing and the flash support so far and honeycombe. It even downloaded all my Android apps on syncing. Oh and yes most the previous apps work.

Impressed, though it's heavier than an Ipad.
Anyway, i think either Ipad or Android your going to have a good system. Though i must admit i prefer the Ipad screen ratio. I'm lucky enough to be able to use both.

If you wish to pay more for Apps and have less freedom then yes the ipad hits both of those aims.....and you have deal with itunes as well so anyone buying an ipad gets their just desserts....

Does the ipad have expandable memory? No.
The Asus Transformer model with the keyboard has TWO card slots. A micro sd slot on the tablet & a full size sd slot on the keyboard.
It also has TWO battery's, & the keyboard can charge the tablet.

I won't have to use itunes with this, its just drag n drop.

I don't want & never have wanted an ipad because of itunes & the lack of expandable memory.
It the ipad2 had meant true drag n drop & a card slot I would have ordered one.
But when Apple can charge £499 for a 16gb with 3g, or an extra £79 for the 32gb model, then I can't see them ever installing a card slot. Not when a 16gb sd card can be had for around £15 because then no one would pay the extra £79, they would just buy a sd card.
£579 is over priced.

You buy what you want with your money, & I'll buy what I want with my money.

Very grown up response.
Did you think that one up all by yourself, or did someone have to write it down for you.......
In very big letters & in crayon of course.

And before you start chucking your toys out of your pram, just remember who started the insults.

lol, I was just having a bit of fun. Sorry if I offended anyone!

Yes the iPad is overpriced, yes it is limited I agree. That is why it all depends on your individual needs. The iPad also has 10 hours battery life which i can vouch for and which I doubt this has, but if you prefer to be more "free", then this is perfect, and as far as I am aware, asus is a decent brand and quite reliable.

I would still rather have an iPad or Xoom. But this is just because of my needs.

Played with the xoom at best buy in Chicago a few weeks back....so very slick it almost came home with me - except they only had the verizon 3g one which would have needed unlocking and such...so I left it there....but very very tempting
