This price: £234.58 + £9.95 = £244.53

Normal Retail Price £266.18!

Difference: £21.65

Less than 10% off and it is an used one...

At least not a good deal for me..

Not very well worded by the OP!

Can get it for £228.77 if you choose 2-3 day del for £5... The headline gives the impression you have to pay for the shipping as well, it is infact in the 234!

So £37.41 difference or nearly 15%

Would rather have a new one for £5 extra

Look out shortly for rivals on the market to these Asus EEEPC's Acer have a couple under their belts about to be released, a flash based and a hard disk based one (can upgrade the flash based to hard disk too at the sake of a reduced battery life) and look aggressively priced to compete and even better these Asus machines.

Can you tell me, I'm looking to replace an old P3 laptop because it is unable to play 720p video without running out of gusto and losing audio.video sync. Will these pint sized PCs be able to play an HD movie?

I don't want to background decode the matrix while I watch the film, but it will need to run XP and Avast.

I picked up a used one for £180!

Cold from me. ;-)

Judging by most of the reviews ive read on HD playback i doubt you will have much more success with the EEE playing HD. 720p might be ok but no chance with 1080p,

I presume you are intending to display the HD content via the VGA output?

I also heard the VGA out resolution on the EEE's has been limited to 1024x768 because of the amount of V-ram available, making playing HD content pointless really. That was probably a driver limitation though, if you did set higher res it would probably be very slow.

Video of 1080p on eee 900 youtube.com/wat…yAo Lots of dropped frames
