hi ,you didnt go wrong at all and its a great deal so thanks for posting:) its £250 at amazon

sometimes members click the expire button because they think its big and clever of them dont take in personally:whistling:

I've asked the moderators to un-expire this deal thread - agree this is a good deal but I'm just wary of dealing with Dixons again.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Thanks - glad I didn't do something wrong!

Yeah, I saw the same machine on other web sites - all over £200.

Cheers,
Derek

Congratulations mate, this is a very good first deal to post on HotUKDeals. :w00t:

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

This is an excellent deal - IMO better than anything else in a similar price range because of the long battery life. The only real drawback is that the keyboard is quite small compared with the likes of the Samsung NC10 but it's much cheaper and, with a solid state drive, likely to survive knocks better too. I have one of these (901 XP) and for what I need when I'm out and about or on holiday (email, internet, reviewing holiday photos etc) it's great.

Other things I like are the small charger block, sensible sized power connector that is right angled and doesn't stick out too much, and easy switching between power modes with a dedicated button. It came with a decent case too.

one of the best netbooks out there. battery life is superb.

Thanks for this review  - I've ordered one for myself! It's good to hear from someone who owns one already that they are happy with it - sounds perfect for my needs.:)

Cheers,
Derek

I've ordered one! This is a FANTASTIC deal especially for a first post. I've listed this as hot in the past when it was £235! This is a vastly underrated netbook which still has one of the best battery life times out there, I've been after one for ages but waiting for the price to drop. Heat and reputation added, thank you.

Superb mate - glad you were able to benefit from this deal.

Also cashback available on TopCashBack (3%) and GreasyPalm (1%) which are the two I use. Everyone only seems to mention Quidco on here, which doesn't to have Dixons.

Not listed anymore?

I've found them but as soon as I attempt to buy one or access the link it redirects me to the list of available netbooks to buy...I think the deal has gone but I would recommend leaving it until later to see if it's technical problems from their end.

Cheers, Scotty Boy!

Wow looks like I ordered just in time! I was faffing about with cashback sites and kept changing my mind about the colour, glad I made my mind up in time! I got a black on in the end! Thanks a lot for that, I'd have kicked myself if I'd missed this one and been p*ssed off all day! At last I've spotted a deal in time to actually get it!

Hi - this is an excellent website... I have been warned off the Elonex ONEt+ Notebook at BargainCrazy...

Re: Asus EeePC 701 Black Netbook... Dixons now has it at the same price but with Linux... is it essentially the same but just has a Linux O/S? I am not techy but can get my head round computer stuff eventually... is it worth me getting this (with I be able to use Linux easily... I want a lil laptop for travel and to sneak into work (in a bar) to use to surf things like Facebook, Hotmail etc...

dixons.co.uk/mar…120

would u recommend this for me?

Thanks

Damm, Looks like i missed out! Should actually read my mail more regularly!!!

Just to close this one off, I received my Asus Eee PC 901 from Dixons yesterday and I'm delighted with it :-D .

I'm pretty sure this was an error by Dixons since they are now selling it at £250 but that just makes me like my Eee PC even more ;-) .

Cheers,
Derek

I am pretty sure it was a mistake too because they e-mailed me to say there was a problem with my credit card and has declined the order. Strange, because the Verified by Visa thing went through fine and the bank isn't aware of the problem!

The e-mail says if I go back to the site I can re-enter my debit card details and re-order - but only at the usual, higher price!

So sadly I didn't get it after all, but glad some people did.
