Fortnite will easily run on this - not sure if it'll run on max settings as not tried it.
CPU/GPU have never overheated on mine after extensive testing.
Well built, space for additional HDD/SSD, 1x8GB ram so a spare slot to make it 16GB dual channel

For this price I doubt you will find anything better

Can i add another hard drive to this so i have 2 drives not a external drive. Say keep the 256ssd drive for master and put a 1tb i as a slave.

Apparently the i5 9300h is much better and in some games vs this cpu you get 20-30 more fps. In GTA V it's the same but when it comes to battlefield 5 the i5 9300H pulls ahead by 20 fps.

It has an easy access port at the bottom and a space for a standard 2.5" drive, so yes.
Does this come with Windows 10?

Edit: It does.

I've ordered this too. Any ideas about the build quality? Apparently the touchpad retains finger oils and makes the touchpad inconsistent? Is that true? I know it's my post and I'm questioning the quality of it, it's a good deal anyway but want to be sure
The 17in version is £649 with 512gb M.2 NVME .

works out at about £520 plus £5 Quidco .. £515 for a 17in Ryzen 5 and GTX1650 ...
Can you get this for 500£ on Amazon?

Yes the 9300H is better (~20% better in benchmarks) - and many games do run better on Intel.
I ordered both the ASUS and this HP laptop with a 9300H at around the same time, 3D Mark/Uniengine results were very similar, but in some games I tried the HP did run around 10 FPS faster (but it also ran at temps into the 90s so I returned it)
I didn't try GTA or battlefield though.

If there was a deal around this price for a 9300H, go for the 9300H but I doubt prices will be anywhere near this and shouldn't be anytime soon (okay i'm wrong, this isn't much more ££)

Build quality is good, its in the TUF range which is built to be...tough
It can leave fingers marks on various parts of the chassis but I haven't noticed it affecting the trackpad usage in anyway, i do use a mouse most of the time - or maybe i'm just not that oily.

That's the same one I had, build quality of the ASUS is better IMO. The ASUS felt sturdier and the screen hinges on the HP didn't feel sturdy enough either, though I saw no reports of problems.

Only other differences I can remember apart from the CPU are the HP has USB-C (& SD card), the ASUS doesn't. The ASUS has a 120HZ screen whereas the HP has a 60HZ screen.

Tricky decision which to go for.

I've just read the reviews and the track pad dips at least 1mm before it clicks, that's not good. I want one to study so I'm thinking if I go for a non gaming laptop for the same price youd he looking at a thinner, lighter and sturdier laptop with aluminium chassis etc vs a budget gaming laptop all plastic and cheaply made. You just wont get the same gpu power that's all

They will all be plastic and have some flex, sounds like you need to sacrifice the GPU if sturdy is the priority.

Rubbish, you can open your account and use it straight away, never heard of that, maybe the terms and conditions have changed. But it seems witless to have someone open a credit account to wait a month. Try an old trick, buy something 200+ and cancel, usually this would enable it. Worked for others but dont take my word for it. If it arrives just return

Unfortunately not .. but with AAA games you ent getting 120 frames on this anyway so it would be overkill . it all depends what you want it for .. £20 for 17in screen and 512GB M.2 NVME or 256gb 15in with 120hz ... for all we know the screen can be overclocked like many can by running a custom screen size .. also with adaptive sync on you dont have to lock the vsync in .

Well I'm not sure, I thought the 17 inch is 120hz. 120 hz for normal use is great I doubt you'll see any difference. The power of the laptop wont give you 120 fps anyway so pointless but it's the best laptop to buy at this price, want it for uni but thought it's best to buy this. The hp for 699 is rubbish. Dell g3 for 750 nah.. only option is this tbh unless I buy a non gaming laptop. Torm between 17inch and this, ordered this last night tho but I can order the 17inch and return if necessary. Its mainly for uni.

17 inch or 15?
