Yes but that’s with laptopsdirect who aren’t a very honest business.

Strange but trustedpilot has Debenhams at a rating of 2.1 compared to laptosdirect at 8.1
Not that I think Debenhams is bad but never heard much untoward to laptop direct either YMMV

I love how since the price of memory has gone up 8GB has become the new standard for gaming PCs. By any decent measure it would be 16-32GB these days.
I got 6 gig in my laptop and it's over 4 years old. Would of thought computers like this would come with more in now.
I'm not saying it's bad deal i think it's ok.

if you are playing at 1080p they are sufficient to set most games to max settings. above 1080p you will need to drop settings or add a second card

Fortunately, the amount of RAM in a lapop or PC does not define how well it performs So still HOT in this age.

Of course it does. Look at the minimum spec for a game from last year and then the recommended spec.

Check some of the recent reviews on laptops direct , I quite fancied buying from them until I read some of them .
Sorry cold.

much better deals have been posted a few times already in the past month. This build is also cheaper elsewhere

Same could be said for Debenhams - trusted pilot I use when I am unsure of a company which has reviews for both.

Personally though I wouldn't be overly concerned from ordering from either as have known about both of them for years. Must admit though Debenhams wouldn' t be top of my agenda of thinking pc equipment and their staff having expertise and being focused in this field.

Have you got any examples of those much better deals? With GPU and memory prices the way they are, even though the 970 is an old card, and that's not the best I5, for a new system at 1080 gaming this seems like a reasonable deal.

Well considering another user posted the same deal for £509, do I really need to bother?

there has been at least 5 desktops posted in the past 2-3 weeks either similar price or superior spec for a little more
Whats people views on upgrading or buying new/second hand? Ive a 2011 AMD x3, 4 gb (2 x 2gb can upgrade to 8gb) looking to either upgrade the CPU and Motherboard, or buy a cheap gaming system???

Any ideas?

Upgrade to Ryzen am4 cheap and future proof
Build a ryzen apu gaming system, then drop a proper gpu in when (if) prices ever get back near msrp. I've just done that, had a similar age system to yours , now have a lovely ryzen one.

Thanks for that, liked so it's top
Bought this exact same build as said, from LaptopsDirect last week. I find it odd that the free delivery has to take 3 weeks but for £4.95, you can get it in a couple of days.

Either which way, the machine arrived just fine, except that it wouldn't boot. On removal of the side panel (and breaking the Warranty sticker) found that the HDD wasn't plugged into the PSU. Popped it on and it's all fine now, just very odd.

Also said that keyboard and mouse aren't included, when in fact they are. So that was a nice surprise. GTX 970 might be old tech, but it's still great value for an everyday gaming card and should be comfortable for the next 3 years for me.
This or a Ryzen 2220G??

That is amusing.

Had no idea laptops direct had an affiliation to trade under Debenhams brand - explains the slight mark up in price between the two though.
