its a good price for a powerful, well specified laptop, but if you want it for gaming you will need to spend £100 more for the one with the 1050 ti graphics card. At that price there is a lot of competition.
Good laptop but not well balanced for gaming, the CPU is much better than the GPU.

How do you quantify whether a CPU is 'better than' a GPU?

I can't find benchmarks for the mobile versions, but looking at some for the desktop versions of those two cards there is marginal difference. 10-15% performance increase in most ways, which means real world results of things like 114fps in CSGO with the 1050, increasing a whole 6fps to 120 with the Ti. Overwatch at 60fps on the 1050, 70fps on the Ti.
So obviously the Ti is faster but not by so much that you can justifiable say the Ti is for gaming and the 1050 isn't.
I’m looking to move from my MacBook Pro to a windows machine with a GPU, but stick with something around 13-14” screen size. Can anyone recommend anything? Thanks
Gearbest have a MSI GL62M 7REX - 1252 Gaming Laptop for £741.36 gearbest.com/lap…=21

"Equipped with a 15.6 inch FHD LED display, powered by Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor, designed with HDMI output, featuring NVIDIA GeForce GTX1050 Ti GDDR5 graphics, all of this give gamers a full suite for gaming dominance and offer gamers a truly seamless gaming experience."

Seems like better value as it has a 1050 Ti although I have never used gearbest before.

Found this on YouTube from Blunty -
Good price, good specs but 1050?... c'mon!!!
Iam not making the laptop m8 iam only posting the deal 🤣
128gb ssd?? Just don't understand why laptops have such small ssd. I appreciate the cloud and all that but surely 256gb should be minimum. I'd want 512gb ready.

Wow, I have to say, that is atrocious advice. Anyone who spends 100 more just to up it to a ti want his bumps feeling. The difference between the 1050 and the 1050ti is marginal (about 10%) and there isn't a single game the that the ti can run that the base 1050 cant.
For a second I thought this had 128GB of ram

You don't understand? It's probably got something to do with SSDs being really expensive! But I think you've possibly missed that this laptop also comes with a 1TB spinny disk, so there's no need for the cloud just yet. Presumably you would keep the OS and a few programs on the SSD, and your Steam library et al on the rotating platters of doom.
Hi guys. I'm looking for a laptop with a gtx 1060 (6gb) for about a grand. Really struggling to find something decent.

If anyone sees a good one, let me know!
Anyone know how good the display is? In comparison to an IPS?
I'm fond of pornography, will this give me a more immersive experience?

Did you have any problems with VAT or shipping time/damages?
Does it have the speakers on the right side or firing into your knees?
While I don’t regard 4GB of Ram and a GTX 1050m as gaming, I must say that ASUS laptops are outstanding. This will play most games at lower quality settings, by my struggle with 2018 releases. 4GB Ram is just not good enough.

It’s not ROG branded, so ASUS don’t class it as gaming.
But it’s a good Laptop for the price, heat given.

Hello mate, you can try and hunt for a ROG G751-JT. It’s a model from the previous G range and has an i7, GTX 970 & 24GB Ram. The display is a 17-inch G-sync and it’s glorious.
(970 outperforms 1060).

I got mine Jan 2016 for £1400, so you should find them new/refurbished for about £900 - £1100 now.

The performance is great, I’m playing R6 Siege at around 110fps and PUBG at 80fps. Both @ 1080p with good settings.

According to this gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…336

970 is less than a half speed of 1060

Yeah, the other guys is right, the 970m isn't as powerful as the full fat 1060s you get in current generation laptops. But performance is performance at the end of the day and if it's pushing the right FPS thats all that matters.

Wouldn't mind something that can handleVR too.

Think the confusion for some people is in the deal title.

Nothing decent yet. Closest I can get is a 3gb 1060 or a 1050ti

Might have to wait until black Friday!
Good with this price
Will this play FM18?

Probably due to the high price of SSDs at the moment.
I'm more worried with the 4GB ram but that is easier and cheaper to fix.
It's 8gb of ram 4gb graphics card m8

Great laptop let down by small storage, not sure if you can add a 2.5 inch hard drive for steam games etc but warranty is valid in UK.If buying from amazon total price including customs charges is less than a grand.
It's got a 1 tb hard disk drive also m8

No mention of a 1 TB drive in SPECS
I've not wrote it out the greatest granted but there is a 1tb hard drive as I bought this laptop and it's in the specs on the site
