Ok so ive just bought this on Very as its cheaper than most places, most other retailer 999+ but very has 12 months buy now pay next year so great if you dont have £1k cash on hand, the I5 CPU is last year so new and fast and the graphics are 1060 gtx 6GB so will handle 95%+ of games on PC at high-ultra with massive FPS no worrys i was happy with 30fps but 60fps for most games is easy with this laptop and a lot of benchmarks and test games get 100+ fps. so is fairly futureproof for next 1-2 years as far as AAA games are concerned.

the screen is also 120 refresh rate so thats great for those that play MOBA or FPS games.

im not an expert but price wise its cheaper than other places plus BNPL is always handy and specs look to be great for sub 1k, hopefully someone finds this useful, and it isnt trash, mainly because ive just bought it haha

EDIT - there is only 1 review and its one star but feel like this is a one time fault and he/she is bitter, the model number in youtube or 1 of 4 review sites are all 8.5/ 9 /10 or 3.5/5 or 4/5 stars and for £1300+ rrp it gets good scores so for £899 is great, shame for the one bad reviewer but dont think "and hope" this isnt specific to the general laptop model but just his purchase.

Price, specs and being ‘Very’ aside the one review on their site is enough to put anyone off buying this surely.

ye i was going to mention that but 2 people bought today + me thats 3 total so cant be putting people of, also it sounds like it was just his specific issue as the reviews on youtube with massive youtubers like linus tech tips and from tech sites and pc gaming websites all give this 8.5 or 9 etc or 4/5 stars so for its £1300 rrp its getting good reviews surely at 899 it cant be a bad deal? playing all current games with 120 refresh and above average powered GPU and light up keyboards nice build ASUS so good brand not off brand etc... all these things together for a chunk under 1k to me is a bargain but even if not then its at least decent deal... a lot of stuff is 1050 or lower GPU and worse specs for 1k+ so... ye i dont know im not an expert but my few hurs of research make this one of the best gaming laptops on the site for a low price so £ to spec cant see faults.
the 1060 is 6gb as well so it will run VR on the go I might just have to buy

True; I have done zero research on this laptop. Maybe they got a dud or reviewed the wrong product. They do have an issue with grammar so who knows.. lol. Seems like an obvious fault that wouldn’t go unnoticed, if the reviews elsewhere are good then it is a great price. Heat

I dont have vr but will in the future when headsets reduce in price and the gtx 1060 6gb is solid... runs overwatch at way above 100fps on max etc will handle VR. Great point
Solid graphics card. If it was 1050 then it wouldve been a bad deal but the 1060 is solid
as cold as it gets...same model is cheaper on Amazon, and it has been like that forever
I feel the Alienware 15 at a little higher with the i7 is a much better buy.

Ye me to... simply putting model into google brings most stores at 900+ maybe somewhere has at 899 npt saying this is cheapest ever but its cheaper than currys pc world and few others... plus has buy now pay later so thats a bonus for people without 1k spare in the bank...

Nice find, never shopped there so not sure about it and the very BNPL is better for me and others without a grand spare but if ypu shopped at this site and trust it AND have cash to pay not credit then that is slightly cheaper nice find

A lot of time gpu throttle before cpu on tests it is thermals getting to hot of graphics card struggling rather than cpu not that big of a difference in i5 to i7 in all but big tasks like video editing etc plus i think alienware is often overpriced for the specs and not had great build quality in my previous models... plastic cheap etc...

Few on very at 1k + that are 1050 or 1050ti but i thought the 25-45% boost in performance depending was worth it also 6gb rather than 2 or 3gb video ram is massive. Agree fully

To be fair, I have this laptop and I have no lightbleed issues. It might have just been a faulty model. Performance wise, its pretty decent.

Nah, Alienware laptops are top notch build quality. You might have tried a very old one, the Alienware 13/15/17's are built like tanks, solid. In my experience it's been the other companies like msi and Asus etc that lack the wow factor for quality, cheap plastic, and yes I've owned both.

you are looking at "3rd party sellers" cause the Amazon sellers are OOS

don't need to get personal, I just know I bought this laptop for my girlfriend for 899 and days after it went down and stayed like that for a while, also with Sea of Thieves for free and some other stuff(said worth £130 but not really)
few back in stock, "low stock" but there back or someone cancelled so grab if you need still availlable on 12 month buy now pay later interest free.
Just an fyi, the very review is not an isolated incident. I also had a dodgy one sent to me a few weeks ago where there was a horrendous shadow in the bottom left of the screen that would show up really clearly on a light background. My replacement is absolutely fine so far (touch wood) but either way, very probably had a dodgy batch at one point.

It's probably safe to order now, just be aware that if you do have a fault and need to change it, very won't send you a new one as standard, they process a refund and then you need to buy another.

Well this is surely not a 1300£ laptop... For 1300£ you can get i7 with 16gb ram and 17" screen, so I think 899£ is really close for what is really worth, I would say the real retail price for this would be about 1000£

screen size isnt a big difference the main cost is gpu and the 1060 is a great GPU most laptops ate £1k are 1050 or 1.1k its 1050ti ish.... there isnt many 1060 i7 17inch and 120 hz ur missing the screen 120 hz thats a big selling point....

i see, thanks for the heads up, if its still on sale/BNPL and also in stock by tomorrow, i will have a quick test and let people know if mine has any issues, i reads somewhere that all tech released ever has a small margin batch issues or specific factory problems there will always be 1-5% small issues most people dont realise or just return or even live with, i know there shouldn't and in an ideal world every single phone made should be the same and perfect but... we dont live in that world haha. fingers crossed i get a good one.

just as a side note, i once bought a laptop about 6 years ago and my brother got the same... playing the same game " skyrim" i think mine ran fine and so did my brothers but mine stayed 60-70 temps and my brothers overheated and at full load would crash of turn of... literally same laptop from same store.... never found out issue probably some bad paste of screw somewhere in wrong place who knows, we got refund... but it is annoying how things can sometimes be just... bad.... makes buying hard as your not sure if the product in general is slow/hot etc or just this specific one.... anyway, thanks for comment sorry about the book :P

Trust me, this price is definitely not 500£ off. I got an MSI laptop with i7 16gb ram 120hz screen 128ssd + 1tb HDD 17" 1060 6gb plus a gaming mouse and a laptop bag for 1300£ ... And also you can upgrade your laptop yourself with MSI without loosing warranty. Asus you can not. so I believe the 899 is not a sales price... I7 with 1050 and 60hz screen is 650£
I7 isnt great its nothing special for most games its the 1060 that adds price with 120 htz AND this laptop is very similar to yours that u described apart from 8gb less ram and i7... i would rather have this for 899 and save 400... and buy 8gb ram easy and if your buying based on warrenty you shouldnt be taking it apart anyway ive upgraded 15 years worth of laptops and never had a problem if your careful warrenty isnt a factor...

Anyway this is a decent deal for what you get there isnt many 120hz 1060 6gb reputable laptops for 899 and this has bonus of BNPL so i stick by it being a good deal.

Obviously its not 500 off rrp as all stores inflate prices to look like a better deal but it is still value for money and proven reviewed well well built branded laptop... plays 95% of games high or max for next year at least maye 2... cant be bad for that really

Ye i dont know if you know very and to a worse case littlewoods... these catalogues always mark up, because you can buy now and pay in 12 months they try charge extra for that... but this is sinilar in price to other laptops and a good spec the bonus is pay next year.

I never EVER buy things from most retailers as there full prices are silly... haha

Thanks for your comment.
