I wouldn't call a laptop a gaming laptop if it had a 1050, my two cents.

For a budget of £800? Not really.

I don't keep an eye on the prices of laptops but if I wanted one I'd want these things.

SSD, 8gb ram minimum (16 is probably gonna push the price too high so 8gb ram is the only thing id sacrifice) and a 1060 3gb (but I'd want 6, but again, have to sacrifice somewhere).

1060 3gb for a laptop is fine, though, as you'd be gaming in 1080p and probably not maximum settings anyway.

CPU wise I'd want a 7700HQ or better.

Is building a mini-itx pc not an option?

amazon.co.uk/MSI…ZB/

So something like this when there is a sale/promotion looks like the kinda laptop I'd recommend, spec wise.

That being said, any laptop I buy would also have to be 100+ refresh rate, so would cost more, but for you/others maybe not an issue.

I'd consider a mini-itx case connected to a TV with a wireless keyboard such as: amazon.co.uk/Log…PI/

Can sit on the sofa, do everything a laptop can do, with better spec/ more upgrade ability, and cheaper.

Or as I said, the laptop above, or similar (when in a sale).

Yep, seems decent. Obviously only 60hz refresh rate but that's probably ok for you.
Is the screen IPS?
