Interesting....I was about to buy but this has talked me out of it!

£487 for the strix gtx 1070
£153 for the i5 7400
£100+ for the 256gb ssd & 2tb hdd

That's £740, gives you £60 to buy your case, motherboard, ram, fans, operating system, dvd drive...

It's a bargain. Heat

Good article with charts: tomshardware.co.uk/for…tml
For specifically GTX 1070 bottleneck chart: docs.google.com/spr…dit
It is a community made chart, but in my experience it is a fairly accurate and gives a good general idea on CPU and GPU pairing.

TBH if you are after a gaming PC I would go for it and if CPU turns out to be a bottleneck in the games you play, then you can always upgrade CPU in the future.

Anyone knows the motherboard on this?

Also the memory specs?
Good price from a branded manufacturer with a graphics card currently going for £400+
There appears to be an alternative with 16gb of ram if you look at the similar products at the bottom. It says 16gb in the title but specs say 8gb but might be worth a try...
Looks good, although reading reviews of this puts me off. Issues with not starting up and talk of heat problems. Very good price compared to elsewhere though!

Update: Bought it :-) Good upgrade on my 6 year old pc. Might take it apart and use my existing case.

Bargain at current prices for this
Not so sure it's a bargain with the 8gb, at 16gb it's moving into bargain territory though

still a good price for what your getting as again in the current market is insane for gpu and ram and i cant see it changing anytime in the near future, the ram gpu and cpu in this all add up to around the £650 mark and you still got the psu,motherboard,2tb hdd, 256gb ssd, and case, which to build this yourself would be more cash for sure
Good price, the picture on my small screen looks like Mass Effect: Andromeda backpack lol

Can the CPU be overclocked to provide bottlenecking?

I can't identify anything better for this price.

The processor is probably the best compromise that can be made.

Changing the processor at the expense of the graphics card will wield a less rewarding experience.

This cpu cant be overclocked if remember right looking for the k version to do this, if im wrong somebody will mention it
debenhams plus seems to have pretty much the exact same stuff as laptops direct, they have this pc advertised with 16gb but then listing details says 8gb
I have spoken with their support team and am assured it is 16GB.

My only concern is the CPU

Currys price = £1469 and John Lewis sell a version with 3GB 1060 for £1049 with smaller SSD and spinny drives.

if its 16gb ram then really is a great price this
Good luck on getting them to honour this deal.

This company has a reputation for taking your money and then cancelling your order.
Interesting, thanks for the chart!
Looks like it shouldn't be much of an issue then hopefully
Just checked via the chat - Agent confirmed 16GB, then asked for an email confirmation as was told it's only 8GB of RAM unfortunately. It's a typo.

It only looks like a bargain because of the hideously inflated GPU and RAM prices atm.

The RAM will be bog standard 2133, I doubt the CPU can serve the GPU without restriction and the PSU (which isn't even mentioned) will be a unrated generic PoS.
Currys lists the RAM as 16GB DDR4 2400, but I'm not sure if it's a different variant of the same model

As you can't get anything similar for this price or less then it IS a bargain, doesn't just look like one. Regardless of your denigrating comments, this machine is good enough for the majority of people.
I guess 4k on this system is a no go...

I guess 4k on this system is a no go...

They advertise it as being able to play games like bf1 and overwatch at 4k

I'm out of the loop for the last few years with pc specs so not sure if that's poor advertising or not.
As Parx mentioned, it's definitely 100% 16gb ram! According to sales anyways.
They could get it wrong tbh though lol, how much they would honor this I do not know but for anyone wondering.

A 2nd chat transcript:
