5830 cards beat this in most benchmarks for only a few quid more, the 1gb card is capable but price is comparable with 6850.

Thanks - do you have a link please?

The 768MB 460s are meant to be a bit gimped compared to the 1024MB ones, and as said above the Ati 5830 cards tend to just beat them on benchmarking (the performance difference is almost non-existant however), still a good mid spec card though, that is excellent performance/£, so you can't really fault the deal, I'll vote hot

hexus.net/con…=11 - In nearly every game tested the GTX460 768MB beats the 5830 1GB apart from a couple tested at high resolution.

768MB is plenty if you are gaming in typical resolutions (around 1600x1050).

This card loves to be over clocked and when over clocked the difference between the 768MB and 1GB models narrows by a surprising amount. The features missing from the 768MB GTX460 that are on the 1GB GTX460 surprisingly doesn't impact performance as you might expect.

Great value card.

only reason i'm not buying this, is because my board is an amd crossfire only one

I'm happy enough with my GTX 260. It still performs very well with all new releases.

thats a good deal

I have this card and while I am not a big gamer the games I do play are played on the highest settings possible and there is no slowdown, not even on the most busiest fight scenes

of course the i5 760 CPU helps

dont you only have to worry about crossfire/sli if you're thinking of installing two cards.

This is on par with 5850 in most tests, not 5830.

Thanks Mamboboy.

Free delivery for hexus.net forum peeps too

I had this very same card, was able to overclock the core to 900mhz and it was completely stable. It performs as quickly as a GTX470 with this overclock. The temps never went higher than 70degrees. People mentioned the ATI equivalent card but they forget that you get physx and cuda with nvidia card. Its well worth the purchase. I only got rid of it to get a GTX 570.

Agreed 100%! This best graphics card of 2010's! Not only the best value/money, but it's almost £30 than the rest of the 460's around in the same category!!!
Very very very hot!!

You can still use a single Nvidia card in a Crossfire motherboard; you're only forced to stick to AMD/ATI cards if you actually want to use two of them in a Crossfire configuration.

If your monitor is 1680x1050 then one of these would do fine.

Yes you are correct, you can use a single Nvidia gfx card on a Crossfire motherboard, or a single ATI card on an SLI motherboard
