Good price for a 2070!
The heatsinks on these pretty terrible though so definitely a more budget card appropriate for the price despite the ASUS name.

Any reviews of this one online? Had a look and couldn’t see any.
showing as £360 on the website, the issue isnt with the heatsinks but with the poorly fitted thermal pads which can be easily fixed by buying the pads on amazon or ebay and fitting them yourself
Needs to be a super for this price. 5700 xt for the same price with better performance

The heatsink is also subar. Even ths strix cards are, when you lookat the size and the insane price.

Better off paying a little more for the Palit card or going with a 2060S which is near enough the same thing.

Its close until the 2070 boosts to 1900mhz and they basically all do. 2070s are basically the same price as 2060s so grab them before they sell out. Obv this one has a turd cooler so avoid.

Price per performance on Nvidia is higher

Tat. Trash
Can we not get into arguments about brand loyalty. Competition from both sides is good and they're all good choices, it just comes down to price and an individual's use case scenario.

CAL2325/12/2019 17:34

Getting closer to that sub £300 biting point!

Doubt they will dip that low as it will eat into 2060 Super sales which they don't want. Probably not a huge amount of 2070 stock left anyway.

No it's the 5700xt dual I think.
Got bad reviews.
I think they do the red devil, red dragon and this other one besides the blowers.
I think it's a bit much to expect this to be £300 when you're paying £360+ for the average 5700xt.
This seems to fall between the 5700 and 5700xt in both price and performance, which seems fair enough.

I'm not desperate.
Eventually want to upgrade a 1060 but it's not for my main pc so I'm waiting for a good deal.
Just that you were scoffing at this when you can't get a decent xt for this price.
Yeah the xt is better but they cost a bit more.

£15 more. Worth every penny more, as performance is almost 10% better.

Ah yes indeed. Its a 3x fan model actually and the worst of the lot. But to be fair all ASUS cards I've had in the last couple of years have been disappointing and I say that running a 2080 strix presently.

I would personally still avoid this on the principle of it being ASUS, with their rather low quality and poor customer support. One to consider is the Gigabyte windforce 5700. its £300 on Amazon right now and has one of the best heatsinks overall. A simple flash to the 5700 XT bios will net you 10% performance without any extra significant heat or noise.

Are you sure because I thought there was just a few % between them.
10% seems a lot. That would be at 1080 too which I wouldn't be playing at.
Overall the xt is better value because this 2070 is a fair bit cheaper than the average one.
Where as you can get a good xt for £369.
But I have to stick with my view that this is a decent deal because it's cheaper than the xt and not a lot slower from my quick delve into benchmark videos.

It got terrible reviews.
Not read anything about it being fixed.
If its true though then it's a possibility. It did appeal until I saw the gamers nexus video.
I was looking at the gigabyte one but again that's about £369.
So this ain't bad in my eyes, although I won't be buying one.

But you're buying a lower quality product with this one. The 5700 really isn't a great deal slower than a 2070 less than 10% and its near 10% less in price. The bios flash for an extra 10% performance is merely a few clicks too essentially turning it into an XT. If this was any other model of 2070 then I would go for it myself but this particular one just sucks even for this price.

I got the GB one, was skeptical as theres 3 fan versions but its really quiet and caps at 77C never reaches 100% fan speed. Boosts to 1905mhz.

I did get COD with mine though, which i think has cancelled now, so thats like another £30 value.

Surprised it boosts to 1905mhz too...

Why do people still buy amd trash cards they are best for warming the house and super loud not to mention the crappy drivers. Never ever again amd this 2070 card is at a very reasonable price heat

1. The item in the deal you've linked is close to £400 and the code is expired.

2. Gamer's Nexus did a
on that card titled "Worst One Yet: XFX RX 5700 XT THICC Ultra Review Do Not Buy" because it's an abysmal card.

3. The cooling issues on the 5700 XT THICC 2 have most definitely not been fixed. XFX had to release a new version of the card called the XT THICC 3 to replace it because it was so bad.

4. If you want to get the fixed version, you first have to buy the faulty version of the card, contact XFX, send them your documentation, wait for them to approve an RMA, send them your faulty card, and then wait for them to send you a replacement. This is a process that will very likely take weeks, if not months at this time of year.

Btw price has gone up to 360 so this should be expired.

Sigh nothing mate.
You were being biased and poo pooing this deal.
Its a good price.
Yes you can get the average xt cheaper than the average 2070. But the 2070 isn't miles behind an xt and at £323 this card is decent.
The thicc was said to be the worst xt of the year. Probably has been fixed but again, more expensive than this.
I just found your comment about it should be cheaper a bit fan boyish.

Nah the Thicc 2 he linked hasn't been fixed, it's still the worst XT model going. They released a Thicc 3 to replace it but you have to go through the whole runaround of RMAing your Thicc 2 on purchase.
I just thought the "it should be a super for this money" comment was unnecessary.
The deal was a good one imo.
You aren't getting a super for £323 and you aren't getting a non blower xt for £323
Honestly, I'd prefer a 2070 super over the xt but I'm not going to pay super money.
So I'm going with the xt but I'm expecting to pay at least £369 for one.
Unless there's some bargains to be had next week.
