You can get a 2070 super which is more or less the equivalent card for over £100 less...

I think it's you who doesn't understand what this site is. A company or retailer can price item A for £5000 when an equivalent product from other brands is £2000, then item A gets a drop to £3000. It still doesn't make it a deal if its comparable competition (or even superior) is cheaper. And thus better value/value for money, which is ultimately what hukd is about, not what % is knocked off bloated MSRP numbers

Instead of attacking others perhaps you should look at what the wider HUKD community consider a deal rather than what you believe is a good deal before telling others they're wrong.

its a good deal as the price is a good pirce whats your issue with that.
When are the new Amd cards being released? 2019?.
Having gone through various strix cards certainly wouldn't call them high end. A lot of bling but often lacking substance, when you consider how expensive they are.

Over 650 for what is essentially a vanilla 2080 is just terrible value.

5800? Likely between Oct to end of the year, announcement or proper launch with stock remains in the air though.

It's not a good deal or good price mate. You can get a 2080 super for cheaper and a 2070 super is cheaper and almost an equivalent card. These 2080s are old cards.

Fair they're slightly more expensive but a far superior card. The 2080 super Nvidia founders edition was available last week for £669. The 2070 super just became available in stock yesterday, I assume there will be more stock of the 2080 super available in the near future.

So assumptions and inaccuracies. Well done
Do the new super cards have any issues like the 2080 series with memory problems causing artifacts etc?.

The 2070 super is close to being an equivalent card and much cheaper. Why would anyone buy a 2080 with that as a consideration???

It’s not but it should. Or atleast certainly be taken into consideration, in the long run it would help get those better deals sooner. Sadly, will never happen.
Zotac Amp extreme is much faster and 30 quid cheaper.

I haven't read about these. Is that an overclocking issue?

Why would they bother MAKING both of them then?
You're entitled to your opinions but there IS a market for both these items.
If you think there is a better price for THIS CARD then by all means bash the OP, otherwise put a massive disclaimer on your opinions as you are comparing apples and oranges.

The 2080 came out a year ago. The 2070 super is a new card. The 2080 is overpriced for the performance it currently produces. So in comparison to the current competition this is not a good deal. Pay less for a 2070 super or pay slightly more for a 2080 super and you're making a smarter decision. It's got nothing to do with 'bashing OP'.

What it has everything to do with is Can you currently find a better price for item X? If not, then it's a deal, end of story.
It's not complicated really.

Wow that's an interesting take.

If that's your ethos then you're going to be making some pretty poor decisions as a consumer, particularly when it comes to tech purchases... Each to their own!

What's the performance gain from a 2080 to a 2080S?.
there was a price glitch on the evga 2080 a couple of days ago i tried to post it but HUKD took nearly 8hrs to check it and by that time the price had been changed

Around 5% so as poor value as vanilla 2080. Until big navi comes these cards will remain stupidly expensive.

Thats the 2070 Super.

Hi all,
i recently have been looking at purchasing a 2080 and finally took the plunge for £630 due to asus current trade in offer (google this if you are unaware). Its currently sitting there unopened.

however reading reviews of the 2080 Super it says that they're meant to be cheaper the the 2080 by $100?

In the UK it looks like the cheapest 2080 Super is currently £690 - im thinking as the Super only got released last month, are there still price drops incoming when vendors have more stock?

any thoughts / comments?

Not really worth it and super won't drop anytime soon until more AMD cards get revealed. You'd have been better off with a 2070S over that 2080. Even a founders edition from Nvidia store is £150 cheaper. When you consider the performance difference between them is within a few percent it's not worth it.

It's the regular 2070, not the 2070 super.
