Its £49.90 cheaper today, so surely a new post is a good thing?

If it was a different shop that he linked then fine, but reposting the "deal" because the price changed a bit in less than a day isn't how they run this site.

Well I didn't log-in yesterday, don't have much time to scroll through and yesterdays deal isn't in the top deals banner on the side, so this post alerted me to the deal I would have otherwise missed. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
What's the refresh rate on the screen, does anyone know? Also, jesus christ, who cares if a deal is posted twice, seriously. Zoom your perspective out a bit and ask yourself if a laptop deal being put on a little website twice is really a big deal in the grand scheme of things.

only a day apart, doubt anyone would change their vote as was already a good price
its even still in the days top 10 seeing as only 15 hours old

It's cheaper so a new deal post is warrented imho. Heat added
I've got the 1070 version of this, had it for 6 months, great bit of kit.

60hz on this one, I believe. 120hz on the 1070 model according to the reviews I've read

its still in the top 10 for computers section, if you are unable to find a deal posted less than a day ago well...

this one wont make the top ten either - they generally dont make the overall section unless better
Please someone get this and try overclocking the monitor hz with CRU and tell me how far it goes? Got my HP laptop up from 60hz to 108hz - interested in the results for other laptops as it would lessen the incentive to get a separate 144hz monitor
Does it freeze with the Windows 10 creators update?

Ask a moderator to provide a view.

If the first post does not update the price, then I say a second posting is justified. People look a headline prices first and not comments.

What if the price changes after 2 weeks, 2 months, 2 years, does one still update the first post? I think not.

Tempted to return the 17" HP Omen I bought over Xmas from the deal on here for this laptop but I'm just about leaning to stick with what I have.

Would much prefer the form factor of this machine but the i7, thunderbolt 3 port and the 120hz screen on the Omen is just about stopping me from switching.

What??? You’re going to swap the hp omen for this rubbish? That laptop has gone back up to £1,400

Well............some of us can only spare a few mins in here every few days, easy to miss stuff especially when not looking for a specific deal. A laptop/PC isn't a high priority buy currently, so I don't generally go searching in those few mins, but seeing this pop up on the new deals tab straight after I logged in gave me pause for thought.

Why I'm explaining myself to you I have no idea.

this is less than 24 hours though - slightly different

though i have seen mods delete reposts of deals where the deal expired, stays out of stock for days then comes back in.
guy reposts it and gone

But nobody bothered to change the price. Common sense dictates if it is not changed, it can be reposted with the correct price.

As I said, the points I mentioned above are stopping me, so no, I'm not.

The Omen overall is great apart from the issues a whole load of buyers had with the screen. I only got a half decent screen on my 4th laptop from John Lewis.

Anyway, enough about that. From what I've read, the screen on this has no such issues but that's still not quite enough to switch.

I wouldn't call this rubbish either. Seems a very good price for the spec of laptop.
Ok guys, lets not get into a argument about this. @MED5 has posted a valid deal this is nearly £50 cheaper than when listed yesterday.

By rubbish I meant worse than the omen not that this was not a decent spec laptop, sorry I didn’t explain.

With the screen bleed, my omen didn’t have much, it had minor bleed on the corners but nothing major, I think it was hit and miss really.

I bought the Omen you're talking about. My first one had screen bleed so I returned it. Didn't bother opening the second one as I found the quality of the screen pretty terrible anyway - poor contrast, colours washed out, dim.

Add to that the DPC latency issue being a non starter for me anyway as I use realtime audio software (Traktor & Soundforge)

Sending the second one back at the weekend. I'm gutted because it was one hell of a deal.

FWIW, this one does have Thunderbolt 3 (er...I think)
Fab spot @MED5 ; also £50 is a huge difference. Glad you posted.

I checked the spec on the Asus site and couldn't see it.

It does say it has a 1 x USB 3.1 TYPE C port(s) but that doesn't mean Thunderbolt.

Yeah, it's a difficult one to pin down spec wise.

According to the asus uk website the titanium i5 Kaby Lake 1060 3gb/12gb ram has Thunderbolt.

This one is a slightly newer spec with the full fat 1060. It would be odd if it didn't have it

Edit*

According to Scan (who are usually pretty reliable) it has Thunderbolt

Ok, took some digging but found the up to date spec for the 7th gen cpu version which does point towards it having Thunderbolt.

Looks great apart from the CPU. The i5-7300HQ will give you a 12% bottleneck according to thebottlenecker.com

Just something to keep in mind.
Is there a spare ram slot to bring it up to 16gb, then it's a beast

Not sure I follow that site at all. A 5% bottleneck allegedly on a Ryzen 1700 and a 1070.
Recommends that I get a faster storage device and more memory....I have an M2 - which is about as fast as you can get and that I should upgrade my RAM to 16GB as I only have 16GB?!?!

True, although for the price even having a 1060 is damn impressive, most at this price are still rocking 1050's and without the ssd's, so I'd pretty much call it a non issue
I was interested until I read the reviews on Amazon commenting about the heating / cooling issues. Does anyone have any personal experience of this laptop regarding this issue?
Just wait... they're going to clear all their stock of bugged-up 30% performance hit PCs.

Buy one knowing there's a performance hit coming.

And before anyone says, no it shouldn't affect games much. Shouldn't that is.

Still, lap up those defective CPUs. £100 off for a 30% slower CPU. Bargain?
