I would defiantly root for flash player though!

Honestly rooting a Nexus device is easier than installing software / drivers on your PC. Just follow the instructions and you'll be done in 5mins!
As for the risks involved.. Actually I don't think I have EVER seen a newbie do any damage whatsoever to their phone / tablet. Moist people who "Brick" their phone / tablet are cocky idiots who don't bother reading instructions and try to root their HTC phone with a Samsung hack..
Hmmmm.. If they are technology illiterate it maybe worth paying the extra for the iPad..
That said I got both my mother and grandmother using laggy old android phones years ago and both don't even know how to turn on a PC X)
A little bit of time, patience and set-up is required here. Infact installing the Windows Phone 7esk launcher is a huge help for older people who aren't constantly adding apps. (Big buttons with big icons and big text is the way to go. Simpler than the iPad :D)

We all 'need' a desktop or laptop pc to do serious stuff but very few of us 'need' a tablet. Tablets are about convenience, consuming media, having fun and having a good user experience. The Nexus 7 is not quite perfect but is bound to improve in the coming months. With the Tesco voucher offer and quidco, the Nexus 7 is astounding value. Right now it's the best show in town, so go on, why not?, you work hard dont you? You deserve a treat dont you?. That rationale works for me every time. So go on..

Your friends are stupid then, everyone knows that it has no 3G and only 1 front facing camera.
If they had half a brain they would just tether it to there smartphone (unless they are still using a Nokia 3310).
Regarding the camera, what i the point of a rear camera unless you are one of those people who like looking stupid in public places taking videos/photos with their iPad

Must say i am very impressed. Its a nice size to hold in one hand and not too heavy.
It runs all apps including what I think are deemed heavy for an on the move application (GTA3, Dead Trigger etc) all of which have ran perfectly.
If you dont want to root to get flash you dont need too. Simply get the Firefox Beta browser and download the Adobe Flash.apk file and install. (you then have working flash).
Google Now is a nice gimmicky feature very similar to Siri although Google now seems to understand my terrible accent better than Siri.
I would genuinely recommend this little table to anyone. At £199 its RRP its good value.. At £189 its a steal and if you were lucky enough to get the £20 code to use like myself then its a Bargain!

Then why did you get one of these (not a trick question)?
Surely logic dictates that the more expensive device should be the all-round better experience? Also, Apple are know for providing a faultless user experience (at a cost) with no additional customisation or faffing around required. That sounds like something that's important to you so why "downgrade"?

Tesco passes order to warehouse system, warehouse despatches order (via Yodel), warehouse system notifies Tesco system that the item has been despatched.
The notification from warehouse back to Tesco is not always immediate and often can get delayed by a day or so. This does not affect the delivery of the item.
If you have ordered for store collection I don't think you will get a despatch notice but if you order for home delivery you will receive an email with a Yodel tracking number.
Don't get too hung up on the website status. If you have not received a cancellation email by now chances are your order will be delivered on schedule.
Embarrassed myself earlier when I ran out in anticipation after a Tesco van turned up...to deliver groceries....for the neighbours....
Anyway, Just spoke to Tesco direct customer services who have credited me £10 and promised to escalate with courier for delivery tommorrow.
I'm not holding my breath...
Just for everyone's information - I now have my credit... what I needed to do though was reset the device back to factory settings (losing all my data - which luckily was almost nothing, given I've only had the thing a matter of hours) then ensure I had a credit card attached to my google wallet.
*Now* start the Nexus up, and go through the registration process again - bazinga - £15 ends up in my google wallet.
I actually called google up (0800 3206081) and after waiting ~35 minutes spoke with someone who took me through this procedure (to be fair, they did an excellent job once I got through).
I have since removed the credit card from the wallet, and so far the £15 credit is still there (I have purchased an app using it....)
Phew - time for bed.

NIceee. I actually checked the email I got from Tesco and it says the following instead of the expected 10 quid :
"This refund for £19.00 was processed". LOL. So I paid for the tablet 151. BAM!

You will find that most (but not all) apps work correctly out of the box. One or two may be a bit buggy, the odd one may not work at all. Because the nexus 7 comes with the brand new version of android, it may take a short while for app developers to play catch up. The problem with BBC iPlayer is that jellybean, the new version of android, has dropped Flash support (currently required by bbc iplayer and some other web browser pages to view video content). All this and more will be properly sorted out in the comng weeks but in the meantime there is a workaround to get flash and bbc iplayer working on the nexus 7. You need a bit of computer savvy to do it but by no means need to be an expert or get involved with rooting. There are several links to instructions on how to do it earlier on this thread. Did it myself yesterday.
I would not let it put you off because i find it fun and educational sorting these things out - it's part of the baggage that sometimes comes with being an early adoptor of a non-apple product. If it is a problem, then wait a few months or look elsewhere. HTH.

Why say all this? To give some credibility to what I am going to say now...:)
Caveat Emptor (buyer beware) should be everyone's motto on this deals site. Yet I read post after post from folks who have bought this device because of the hype. Personally, I don't mind what you buy, but as I am,in the market for a 7" tablet for my mum, the Nexus 7 was "the one to get". But I always look first. So yesterday I spent 30 minutes in Currys comparing the Nexus 7 running tegra3 quad core & JB to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7 running TI OMAP dual core & ICS.
I expected the N7 to be superior in every way & was only being thorough. Not only was the Samsung superior in every way - build quality, look, screen quality, smoothness, UI responsiveness, it has all the "normal" android device features - microSD, 2 cameras & a 2 year manufacturers warranty.
Both devices are £199. I recommend that everyone looks first. The N7, in my opinion, is riding high on hype & fanboy delight. Do yourself a favour - treat it with the same dispassionate decision making as you do for any other purchase.
