Is that keyboard full RGB HDR Pro 10hz? Better be
Processor is too high end unnecessary for gaming
The screen is too small for dk mode golden eye heads to fit on .

And it will be out of date within a year no doubt.
Good spec for sure but IMHO high end gaming laptops like that are pouring money down the drain. A comparable, probably slightly better desktop could be put together for half that. Sure a laptop is more portable, but it's kind of pointless since those parts, even in mobile guise, are so power hungry they will probably drain the battery inside an hour of heavy gaming and if you have to have it plugged in might as well just use a desktop and save a tonne....
It is a shame about the 2 hour battery life. I would guess that it is not Optimus based.

I partly agree but most gaming laptops will not use the dedicated GPU when not plugged in to a power source. It would need a power source to run the GTX. But the benefits are still in portability. If you travel for work etc and need a portable rig a laptop is the best solution. If someone wants a gaming rig and are not fussed about portability, you are right, a full desktop would be so much cheaper and have much more power.

Personal opinion is this is too much for a portable gaming rig. Do you really need AAA games running at 100fps? Most mid range gaming laptops would be enough for most people and will run most games at 60fps on mid settings. If you want better than that invest in a desktop.
anyone who really needs this travels etc will be worked related and im sure your company woukd pay for it

Why do people feel the need to say this?

This is a laptop deal!

Yeah some companies have a 1.5-2k limit, hehe this smashes that budget.
There was (and still is) such a huge price difference between the 'old' top f the range 980m and the 1080m's. I would love to have bitten and brought one of the these, but the price is still to high on these models (about £1k over what I would like to pay). Can see the next generation being the same if not more in terms of price!

I've utilised a laptop for gaming now for quite a while. Most times I'm just browsing and have it connected to a monitor / keyboard / mouse etc. Mine travels as far as the lounge so I'm not locked away in a separate room from the missus. That's what justifies laptop over desktop for me (missus wouldn't allow me to slope off each night to the spare room just to 'play games')

Hehe "play games". Do both of your hands play or just the one

There are no longer "M" model gpu's in laptop. It's the same gpu as the desktop versions these days. (Except this isn't, it's a max-q edition gpu designed to be cool and quiet, and is noticeably less powerful than the gtx 1070 in my AORUS X5V6).

Also, is this deal cold because it is available at a better price elsewhere?

Comparing gaming notebooks to desktops is pointless, I'm not going to take my desktop on my business trip to Taipei next week so I will take my gaming notebook. Hotels have electrical sockets and desks these days.
