Absolutely not. I hope this is a troll, if not then you're dreaming if you think a £350 machine can play Witcher 3 1440p 60FPS. Save up is a good bet

h81 only supports 2 ram sockets weird amount amount of ram so would be one 4gb stick and one 8gb stick

Never noticed that. The parts i used are equivalent but i guess it could be H87, Z87, H97 or Z97 adding even more value on!

Cracking deal!

It will if you buy a good enough graphics card as well.

Doubt it as its Asus not a custom made by CCL

unfortunately not, customisation is only available on CCL built systems identified by their CCL stock code. (CCL-EL-GRY2 For example) whereas this has a stock code of SYS3996 meaning it's a ready built system from the manufacturer.

hope this helps!

Not questioning it being h81 but do you know where it says it?

Godammit. Was looking for a model No. and that completely slipped by me.

This would be a reasonable Photoshop, video rendering / encoding tower. For gaming the amount of ram is not required and it has a useless GPU which is an Nvidia Geforce GT 720. I personally wouldn't buy it for gaming, the motherboard lets the side down. You could add in a cheaper GPU rather than say a GTX 970 and it would game ok then in 1080p.

Similarly, I'm thinking of it as a music production PC... just been waiting for the right unit at the right price, and this might be it, for me.

Yeah this will run plenty of VSTs / Effects etc. It's more than good enough for multitrack recording. What DAW do you use?

Anyone know what psu it has?

Probably an Asus OEM. Not the best but will get job done

Cubase for my own work as a producer, Pro Tools for working as an engineer with bands. I prefer Cubase, just because it's what I've always used, though.

Do you have any experience of Cockos Reaper? Ah a producer/engineer cool I trained at SAE in London some 20+ years ago. I never really managed to get in to the industry though so eventually I became a guitar teacher and went in to I.T. which is what I do now.

Not personally, but my flatmate has always used it... he doesn't work professionally, but kind of a bedroom guitar thing, and he's always got good results from it.

I did my training at SSR in Manchester... I think they have a London one now, too... and a Jakarta one, in fact! It was all built around the old Spirit Studios where The Smiths, Happy Mondays, Stone Roses etc recorded before being moved to the new site near the station

Ah cool, you would have missed what I posted as I edited my post. I've got too many computers and a mac mini now so I'm thinking of just using GarageBand on it and then maybe buying Logic Audio if I get on with it.

I did some work on the first Charlatans album, which involved me talked to the band, getting them tea and watching how the producer/engineer worked Was fun at the time.

Anyway this PC is definitely good enough for production work. A friend of mine produced and recorded his mate's signed band using an old Intel Q6600 tower, he pushed it to the limit and still managed an exceptional production and mix with plenty of effects.

1% Quidco too.

Here's the manufacturers page. asus.com/Des…AD/
Might be good for someone wanting to make a hackintosh.

Anyone know if i can stick a Gigabyte Windforce3X GTX 970 in this?

This is getting a bit personal.

My GT 730 is surprisingly capable, the gddr5 version, and plays skyrim on ultra with a few mods at 1080p

Top brand top quality like always ASUS

Will it play gta 4/5?

Just be aware that this is let down by the PSU - 350W. I couldn't believe it but it's on the full specs on the ASUS website. Don't see the point of beefing it up in other areas, then go and slap in a bottom of the range PSU. Madness.

You seem to know what your talking about....i need a base unit under my tv to run kodi , stream 1080 video etc. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse to use it as a media centre. But say if i wanted to plug my xxbox controller in and play a iso game , say lego marvel superheroes surely this would be able to do that with ease ?

Good deal. Will run most games.

Saw a similar great deal earlier for a SFF i5 (same i5 as this) but only 4GB RAM and with no Graphics card for £290. Definitely worth the £60 upgrade I think..
