  • It features four visuals modes which can be accessed with a single click
  • Vivid mode optimises contrast for browsing photos, watching videos and movies
  • Eye Care mode reduces blue light levels and is ideal when you are reading for long hours
  • Normal mode has been tuned for daily tasks, while manual mode is for enhanced colour adjustments
  • ASUS VivoBook series laptop comes with a full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution display

I like the look of this laptop but HATE that output port for a projector on the side.

Just saw this on the JL website - same laptop? It comes with a two year guarantee... JL Asus Laptop

If it is the same, maybe post that as a deal.

LOL, I believe this was about £150 more when I checked, price match??
Agree JL is probably the better supplier

It seems a rather unbalanced spec. Why pay extra for a 7500U over a 7200U or 7100U when it doesn't even have an SSD?

Lack of SSD is a performance killer bottleneck. Very unbalanced.
A shame windows dumped the easy to see bottleneck disk/cpu/display ratings screen.

Shame it's dual core

Don't disagree that a SDD would be good, rip out the 1th into a caddy and buy a 128 SSD

Job done

Problem is, that concomitantly rips up your JL 2YW

Because you can easily change the hard drive. But you can't the CPU.

Hmm, not sure I'd want to go through that with a brand new warrantied machine (at least the prying plastic apart bit).....

Does it play Blu-ray?

Asus screens are typically awful.
If it's not ips double check it's a decent panel.

Not bad for what it is but I would echo those that say that this should come with an SSD to maximise it''s performance capabilities.

Coffee Lake arrives on 21st, so can see these machines being discounted before the end of the year.

Shows as 580 now

Still £469 with John Lewis and two year warranty. OP, update your post.

Was close to buying but read the reviews on Amazon, A lot of disappointed customers

It's standard for many compact notebooks and netbooks, no big deal. You do one you done a million.

580 @ Amazon, 699 @ JL. That was a short lived price drop!

Any other good fhd/SSD 15"laptops around for sub £500 please?

The Dell Inspiron 7560 is better imo. Has graphics card and very thin bezel. Asus have also just released the Vivobook S with a very thin bezel. Can only see the i7 but it was literally released last week

Both links are dead, as the price's have increased to £680 and £580 ;-(

Better yes, if you want to spend £200 more.
