Good price for the specs (especially the screen resolution). Can't find any reviews though.
Weird specs, great screen but could do with beefier CPU & GPU, Overpriced IMHO as similar specs without the HD screen can be had for about £300

Yes beefier CPU would cost more, however it is hard to find Full HD resolution at this price, balance between what you want. The battery life is also good so for this price and Full HD 1080p screen not bad as this is not an half baked 720p screen.
What is with laptop makers?
Its either got a 720p screen and blu-ray, or a 1080p screen and no blu-ray,

I guess if you are looking for a gaming laptop this is not right, however casual gamers/entertainment laptop, what I would like to use it as, this is more than enough....

The amount of memory has no direct effect on the 'speed' of the graphics card, certainly not for 2d/desktop applications, the card just needs a big enough frame buffer to effectively store a bitmap of the desktop before sending it to the monitor...

1920x1080@ 32bit colour = 4 bytes per pixel x 2073600 pixels = 7.91 megabytes,

So 8MB of video RAM (frame buffer) would be sufficient to run this for windows desktop applications in 2D Directdraw mode

The reason modern graphics cards have GBs of RAM is to load things like textures and API elements for rapid access, which is important for 3d applications, games, hardwar accelerated 2d, transcoding etc, but not used on the desktop. The other reason would be for massively high resolution multiple monitor setups....

For people that do none of these things anything above 256mb is total overkillfor a graphics card, but memory costs pennies, so the companies add loads and market it as a massive advantage.

Google " Asus KV55VD " shows all models as having 2GB
Also as far as I can tell, all 610m have 2Gb standard...

I don't see much difference between these two,

Only major difference between SB and IB is power consumption, performance is mostly the same per clock.
