in theory good laptop but the Processor its only a 1.6GHz oO
Four hours battery life. The price drop however is worthy of some heat. :-)

Of course it can.... but at what price?
Let me check. And get back to you
That CPU is quad core anyone. So probably won't need an upgrade. 1.6ghz - 2.4ghz Burst. And has a TDP of 4watts. Must run very cool at that.
Onboard graphics aren't too good though
Only upgrade available for this CPU is N3710. Not worth the upgrade for an extra .167ghz

Quad core and rubbish single threaded performance. Good price but I'd rather a dual core with stronger single threaded performance.

Yeah very true. It's a low end CPU
Any better laptops about same price or cheaper then? I guess not, have some heat

Ask a question, and don't give anyone time to answer. Well done. There are plenty of better deals. This isn't a great deal, but not the worst I've seen

Most likely soldered to the motherboard. Most laptop CPUs are now, prohibiting an upgrade

Hardly makes any difference. You can't judge a cpu by the ghz alone anymore. The Intel in this is perfectly capable for everyday use.
HP doing nice i3 laptops for £250 they are hugely better

You can when is a single threaded one like this one.

What do you mean? This isn't a single core cpu, it's quad. Also when looking at single thread performance, the ghz only tell half the story
links to hp laptops please. if they are so much better.

With the greatest of respect mate, it seems you are quick to jump all over the posts on here telling people how it should be done. Then, when the option to *actually* provide a little help or advice is raised, you get all "on your own bud" about it.... just an observation.

At no point have I told anyone how anything should be done. I used google to find an upgrade for this CPU and there was only one for the same socket.
Just reserved one of these at my local Currys. Seems pretty good price for a 15.6" with 4Gb of RAM. Plus 4hrs battery life is great for a laptop this size. Despite concerns folks seem to have about the CPU when I look up the reviews on it they all say it's pretty good and the pay off is its lower wattage... and thus longer battery life. Given that I don't want to play games on this, it's a good trade off for me personally.
The HP laptops for £250 have the i3 5020U in them.

Here is how they compare to the N3700 in this Asus laptop:

cpuboss.com/cpu…20U

Not the only factor though. The HP's have a 3 MB cache vs the 2 MB in the Asus. But then the Asus has a 2.4 Turbo boost and an extra 500Gb HDD space, the new USB Type-C port and it's a tad lighter compared to the HP. Also the HP didn't get great reviews for it's screen whereas the blurb on the Asus (rightly or wrongly) seems to suggest a decent screen. But you may need to go and see it in Currys/PC World to confirm this.

So you pays your money and makes your choice!

'Acronyms' confuse me ..... hehehehehehehehe. :-)
If can trade-in, probook with i3-6100u, or i5-6200u with M.2 SSD is around £200.

More powerful CPU, much better quality laptop, good GPU as onboard (do not compare to dedicated), M.2 SSD is fast and keep the SATA for a large size HDD.

i3-6100u + M.2 SSD, £50 + £125 cashbacks

I5-6200U + HDD, £50 + £175 cashback
