Save almost £60, one of the extras of applying to Natwest student account. I personally think a dell would probably be better value, but if you want an Asus.

The RRP is completely irrelevant; how does it compare to other retailers?

The next cheapest I can find is ebuyer's normal price, £654

Maybe the fact that you can get a near-identically spec'd Dell from Tesco has something to do with the cold votes. OK, it's a gig less memory, and the disc is a bit smaller, but the processor is more or less the same (the extra 1MB L2 cache and 133MHz FSB won't make much of a difference in the overall experience, except in CPU-intensive tasks), screen size and resolution are identical, webcam and Vista Home Premium are included.

And it's £230+ cheaper.

did you say this is for students? £600?
