I have been researching this laptop and this is a very good deal. Best i have also found so far. Additionally this laptop can take 16GB of RAM and you can swap the HDD out for a SSD running at 6Gb/s I will be buying this laptop soon.

Better specs than most of the Dell Outlet offers at the moment. Come on Dell, catch up and lower your prices. Heat to this one, btw.

Looks very nice for the price, graphics card is a bit lousy but unless you need this it's really good. The 630M isn't using the new Kepler architecture which is a shame.

Your 17R has got much lower specs. The 17R is also horrible glossy, screen and plastic case, while the ASUS has an aluminium case.

Hi am guessing you still do not no the 17r ES it comes with ANTI-GLARE 1080p screen which is fantastic and best in class according to notebookcheck.com and its 2012 model check it out first then comment over all the performance of mine should be higher considirng the graphic card and the hdd clocked at 7200 and more then 200 cheaper!!!

Not bad for the price, blu ray and 1080 screen, the only thing that seems to let it down is the weak GPU

I am aware that the 17R comes with a choice of screens. You were lucky if you got an ant-glare screen for this price. Most refurbs from Dell are glossy (i.e. cheap screen).

simply not worth it. if gt 650m comes with this price still overprice my point of view, and its samsung

I don't know what lianghe is talking about its ASUS and I can't find a laptop at this price with the same spec.
At 760 its the cheapest most powerful laptop around.
After all its not a gaming laptop, just a good all rounder

I have also been researching this laptop and have been to look at both this and the samsung Chronos 700z, if you want better gaming graphics and to save a bit of money i would go with the samsung instead, but I game less than i used to and am looking for a good all rounder with a nice screen and good build quality without it being a brick, this one suits my brief and i really like it, the build quality is really good, only let down by a slightly poor touchpad, the thing is both the samsung and asus both have this issue for me, while the samsung is positively flimsy in comparison to the asus which is really solid.

cheapest around as i have been looking, good deal OP

Hi, I've had this laptop for a couple of weeks now and so far so good...the only issue is that it does NOT come with a backlit keyboard, which the website said it does (ASUS N56VM-S4034V). I have contacted Asus and they said it does not. So if the backlit k/board is important to you forget it! Other than that it's a great machine.
