Is this the 2012 or the 2013?

At this price 2012. Great tablet, take it with me everywhere even though I have an LG G Pad, battery lasts forever even though I'm constantly playing some sort of emulator.
refurb - cold
2012 model - centre front facing camer
2013 has a thinner side bezel and the front camera is off centre (to the right)

Still a good price for a refurb 2012 model though. Have some heat
this or hudl as got vouchers for tesco

It's an ok-ish price for the old model. There's quite a gulf of a difference between the 2012 and 2013 so £99 is the price you'd expect to pay for this "new" these days.

N7 > Hudl

Yes as the software updates are direct from Google. Hardware and build on the 2012 is good. Battery can be changed, USB port speakers replaced. The later 2013 N7 has a better screen and h/w spec but the 2012 is still a very decent spec.

warlockuk makes a good point and the re-seller is a key part of the decision to purchase: What are the returns like etc. I've use Amazon warehouse (they sent me a broken microwave) and Argos (Broken N7 2012) both returned free and full refund issued. What are Zavvi like for returns? In case their GRADE A turns out to be scratched etc.

Have both in household and, frankly, for non-'power users' they are both fine. Very happy with my Hudl, bought with £60 Tesco Clubcard vouchers. Tesco leather case is good too (£5 at the time).

Wife's N7 has been fine but a friend went through four before finding one which kept working: they would lock up after a few days use. I guess that's why there are so many refurbs? Google customer service was excellent but still a real hassle.

Excuse the probably stupid question but will I notice much difference using this instead of my Motorola Xoom 1, which is starting to slow down?
thanks besford

I was going to comment this, and I can't like your comment as I'm on mobile, so I'll quote it out of agreement instead

Must have a staggeringly bad return rate or clumsy factory staff dropping them all.

Why don't you just factory reset yours if it used to be ok? That should fix it. Keep your spondoolahs in your pocket then
Don't think I would get one again, no matter how many factory resets and even new roms it is pretty much permanently slow and jerky now no matter what I do with it.
