This is the ATX version non TUF model of yesterday deal which can still be ordered.

If the desire to want an ATX Its not a bad deal.

However the TUF version is better for zen2. Higher ram and better vrms.

There is 4 models.

Asus B450m-plus (matx)
Asus B450-plus (this here atx)

Asus TUF B450M-plus (on here usual 85 down to £66) matx expired deal.

has anyone ordered from Athema.co.uk?
I am looking to wait for the new Ryzen processors but if I purchase this MB, does it need a bios update to work with them when they are released?
If so, how would i update the bios with only a 3rd gen processor?
Thanks

Recent AMD announcement means that B450 could possibly have a beta BIOS update but it’s very dependent of manufacturers.. also you will lose support for Zen2 and below but no idea how the update process will work
Quite a few Asus deals from Amazon recently, could be worth checking for other gear as well. Already have the 1650s from them.

Thanks everyone for your advice, I'll sit tight until they release the new processors, then get both processor and mb together.

If you're going Ryzen, you need at least 3000-speed memory. Something like 3200 is what most people are going for.

You don't need b550 or x570 motherboard but if you plan to get 4000 series CPU I would wait. To get the b450 motherboard compatible with next gen they will have to make some cuts to motherboard memory usage and I have feeling just removing zen2 support might not be enough and other cuts may be made that may not be ideal for yourself.
Bloody Bargain. Especially if ASUS give the option to update the bios to 4000 compatible later.

That's the issue though. Yes this is a bargain, but it's Asus. Their general build quality might still be pretty good, but I find it's become more apparent over the last few years that their support is shocking. Not saying other mobo manufacturers are perfect, but even though this is such a good deal... I really wish it were anyone else than Asus, frankly.
I've been spoiled, got one of these, this time last year, including Ryzen 1200, 8GB RAM, for £100 on Marketplace.

The chap selling, bought it all from Amazon a few weeks before and decided he'd just keep gaming on his Playstation.

I've no complaints so far with this board but I really did not enjoy installing the AMD cooler onto it....

I know what you mean, my motherboard has been replaced under warranty, but since then it was pretty much ok. 10th year now.

Why are these not sold out yet? What are you all waiting for? B450m wont come down in price, if anything they'll go up. AMD wont drop the 550 on us until the bios is nearly ready for the 450. Theres only 1 more cpu for either a 450, 550 or 570. Doesnt matter what you buy, take pcie 4.0 out of the equation, which is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike, and theres absolutely no reason in the world not to grab a full sized atx board from a premium manufacturer for a pittance? Very strange indeed. Methinks many a person will be kicking themselves when they go back to normal pricing, or when stock of b450ms starts to dry up and we are all getting nailed for these half useless b550s with the shortest shelf life in the history of mainboard? You have to add a hundred quid to this to go to x570 minimum? And for what? To put it in the same top drawer in a years' time? A hundred quid buys a decent cpu these days....

There is a good difference in between these 2 boards,.... maybe not so on paper, but actually bench testing them / overclocking them there is a good difference in the VRM's...

Sadly people need to "stop" reading the manual, and assume one is the same... there is quite afew boards out there what have the same mosfets they by far do not match the same.

I've seen you say a few questionable things and always bite my tongue, but this one is ridiculous. It has the same number of phases, using the same mosfets, the same components, they are IDENTICAL in every way and yet you say one is better.

The Asus TUF B450M-plus and Prime Plus use the same VRM. Maybe you're thinking of the other TUF boards...
