i5 for this price. Rip off

If it didn't have a GTX 1060 and a 256GB SSD, then yeah, maybe.
The recent medion i think was a better deal, although 17", but it had the higher spec 6gb 1060 and was a little cheaper. Hot for a 15" version though.
would of been keen to go for this had it been the 6gb version of card, bit of a deal breaker.

yeah, had my eye on that laptop for a while, gutted I missed the deal. £899 is a crazy price for that spec.

Agreed. 3GB is a bit stingy these days. Have a feeling that's going to become the norm for 1060 GPU's in the UK though.

i5 for this price. Rip off

You can't make blanket statements like that. So is a 2nd gen ULV i7 better than a 6th gen i5 quad like this?

And you've got a decent sized SSD and graphics too.

Saying 'i5 rip off' just sounds like you've been totally sold on 'you must have i7 and moar cores' to be a gamer...

It is a 4-core i5 - the only extra you get with an i7 is hyper-threading which gives about a 20% performance boost if you are lucky. It's actually a pretty decent well balanced machine with the GTX 1060 and M.2 SSD.
Not bad at all
Yeah if we didn't just find out that intel's 8th gen mobile CPUs are going to be a lot better. Then this would be a pretty interesting deal. And too bad the 1060 is the slower 3GB vram model. Oh and I would assume the battery life probably sucks too. Not checked that though.
