For the price pretty poor graphics card, wouldn't want anything less than a 1060 unless you only play esports type games (LoL, DOTA, CS:GO). For gaming the CPU is kinda overkill too.

If you are looking for a gaming laptop for xmas try find a I5 / 1060 system. Also, I think the 1060 version of the ASUS ROG laptop is around £80 more than this but you are getting 2x the performance.

this guy gets it

you can get a 6th gen i5-6300HQ + 1060 usually around this price (sometimes lower) which would give a better overall gaming experience

unless you need an i7 for other things, obviously.

I agree this deal is not great & 1060 with i5 would have been better (I actually have one 1060 & i5 7th gen), but x2 faster than 1050Ti... no way :)... more like 50%...

Synthetic benchmarks are not particularly indicative of real world performance, especially in games.

That 1060gb is only the 3gb variant. Not a huge performance difference, but something to be aware of for any buyers.

Yeah I admit the 2x faster is exaggerated, was just going off gpu.userbenchmark.com/Com…649 for desktop stats (72% better performance apparently overall).

Still I recently upgraded from a 660GTX to a 1060GTX and every game so far has hit 1080p / 60 on max settings. Couldn't be happier with it.

They are a pretty damn good indicator. Also one of the websites that do these benchmarks, they benchmark the laptops using actual games which practically shows real world performance.

Realistically with black friday coming up, am I ever gonna find a system with an i7 processor and a 1050ti?

i7 with 1050ti will comfortably play most games at 1080p60 on high+

Correct.

The question is: how heavy is it?
