There were some in stock at £899 on ASUS site before Xmas. Then it went up to £950 then sold out and sold out on eBay too.

not in hurry though and now I’m in two minds about just buying this one and putting the change towards an iPad Pro.

Not sure the extra ram and storage is worth another £300+!

Yeah was thinking the same tbh, not sure if it's actually worth the extra cost...

Would this phone still hold up against the note 10 or similar?

Yep, better - apart from camera in low light or indoors
Is this the best price and version available
Will it run Candy Crush?
If this is available with a 1tb storage why should I be interested to pay over the odds for a 128 ?

Where is it availabe?
Good find op
Had this phone from laptops direct and it's a beast. Had to return it though as the lack of WiFi calling meant I couldn't use the phone at home. I also never managed to connect to band 20, I was assured it was on this model but when monitoring it using an app it never connected despite my other phones predominantly using band 20 where I am.

My Tencent version has Android 10.

I'll rephrase that. On some Youtube reviews its reviewed as 1tb - I'd heard on some iPhone 11 for example, having 512. This was a new one on me. If you search YouTube you'll find the reviews. They call this a gaming phone which doesn't really interest me, but the big storage does !
I imagine it'll be available on likes of Aliexpress etc
This explains whats available: GSM

If gaming doesn't interest you then you'd most likely be better off with a phone with microsd storage? 400gb/512gb isn't that badly priced now. I know it's not 1tb but still it will cost you a hell of a lot less.

Oh I'm in no rush. Just see what unfolds over the months ahead

1tb is oos in the uk atm.

Depends how you look at the pricing £549 for 128gb (8gb ram) or circa £900-950 for the 1tb (12gb ram)

It does make sense to pay for the extra storage and ram if you’re going to make use of it but arguably you’ll probably be changing your phone again in a couple of years anyway.

From my perspective I’ve had a 128gb phone for around 2 years now and I’m only now finding storage a headache.

Also lots of reviews saying the 1tb version is one of, if not, the best phone of 2019.

Main downsides are camera is poor compared to everything else out there and no water resistance - so don’t use it in the chucking rain or drop down the loo.

Personally I wished they released this with 128gb 12gb ram with a much better camera and microsd storage. That would have truly been the Ultimate phone.

Valid point
I bought this version last week at £650 from the Asus store. I'm really enjoying it. I did a benchmark with AnTuTu and the only phone to beat it, is the 12Gb big brother.

I've had no issues with signal on EE, but have not checked if it has band 20 (Just downloaded an app to check).

I'm enjoying the large screen, the camera is a decent step up from my last phone (S8 Plus).

I've played a couple of games of COD mobile, and it runs great, the air triggers are very helpful.

Overall, I'm really happy, even if I paid £100 extra on the price it is now!
Its a phone that plays bubblehead games. Sad.

Sure you can do that if you want.

It's also the most powerful phone on the market (barring the 12gb big brother) for £550.....

Plenty of uses other than games for that big 120hz screen and fantastic front stereo speakers.

What happened to PhoneVR.....no mention of the Cortex-A73 chip. Used to luv VR on my Note 3?.
I enjoyed VR on my phone so much I bought a HTC Vive. VR is alive and well, I just have no idea about phone VR these days. This phone is likely too big to fit in most "Universal" phone VR headsets anyway.
