Which one? And why, if you don’t mind me asking?
These very deals are cracking.

Any idea on the brightness in nits? It’s not on the website under specs...
Helios may be slightly better on paper but it looks horrendous in comparison
How does the 20% off work exactly?

Is it actual cash off the final price or is it like a very credit note?

Never used this retailer before thanks in advance for the info

It’s off the cash price of your credit. So say it’s £1000, which is your credit amounts in January you’ll have a £200 credit against it, meaning the total payable is £800.

Is there much difference between the CPU’s? Must admit, this one is preferred for the looks vs the Helios but similarly I won’t be taking it out of the house so not toooo fussed. Overall quality and longevity is, I suppose, the main thing for me.
I bought the Helios 300, it's a much better deal IMO.

* Looks are subjective. I like it personally
* It has 2 NVME slots and a SATA 2.5inch bay. I would have like to ditch that for a larger battery but oh well.
* The CPU is awesome 6C/12T. I'm a VM fan so no contest here
* 8GB memory I'm swapping out for 32GB I have spare
* 1660Ti isn't far from my old 980Ti performance wise. Going to use this mostly for VR in my living room/friends/work
* Will strap it to my back for moble VR. An hour battery isn't great but I don't care

Better cooling on the Helios.
The Helios is an extremely capable machine for the money. Check out some comparisons on YouTube with the 1660ti card.
Has anyone used the buy now pay later offer with Very? How does the money come back to you, is it as credit back so your outstanding balance left to pay is less?

And there's no penalty if you just pay the £800 off in full as soon as that £200 credit is in your account? And no interest to pay?

Apparently not, no. It’s encouraged, apparently. Guess they’re making their money off the people that forget.

I was about to ask the same, what kind of screen is it? Reviews seem to suggest 144hz on YouTube but can’t see anything in the spec?

Just checked the EAN from Very, and it matches an EAN on acers website which states 144hz.uk-store.acer.com/pre…-12
Oh, it also confirms this on the very page:

It looks like it does end then. I won't be touching it with a bargepole though, I've just got off the phone to them and they can't tell me what the 20% will come off if they'll only give me £750 credit and I pay the rest in cash. At one point they said I could pay the difference in cash between the credit offered and the purchase total, but they could only estimate what the purchase total was until checkout was complete.(staff member actually hung the phone up on me when I said that I need to know the price BEFORE completing checkout!)
Was on the phone for over 45 mins to a supervisor who talked over me and contradicted himself with pretty much every sentence.
I won't buy from them, and would advise others to be very wary given my experience.

I spoke with them twice today. 1st was a lady who rang me then said I had to wait for a letter then call them back, for security, and it would be a week until that all goes through and I get the laptop. I then called them back and was not happy about it, spoke to a guy who said that there was no reason at all the lady was forcing me to wait. anyway within 10 mins he said order should be with me tomorrow

fingers crossed

There is a huge difference between the i7 9750h and the Ryzen 7 3750h

Get the i7 for the sake of a few quid, the Helios is a better machine all round TBH

Honestly it's a much better machine, the Asus TUF laptops are sort of lower end, the Helios series are decent

The i7 is honestly dramatically better, in a few years from now when you have to dial down the graphics settings, you'll become more CPU dependant, and at that point the i7 will really make it last that bit longer too
